Transfer Window opens in a month besides all that the club will know who to target, you don't need a DOF for that.

I keep saying that everything needs to be dictated by the club, not the DOF, not the manager so the club should be the ones who set the culture and philosophy and ought to be hiring the DOF and the manager and identifying players who ideally will fit within that culture and philosophy.

Chill out.
The club = Levy = proven incompetent. This is why we are not chilled out

I think we're supposed to be proud, hence the announcement. But when the football side of the football club is managerless, rudderless, on a downward trajectory, suffering unprecedented humiliations on the pitch, and in the midst its longest trophy drought since World War 2 it comes across as ironic and, to be frank , borderline trolling.

Maybe concentrate on producing a winning football team first and foremost, yeah?
Are we on a "downward trajectory"?

What timeframe are you using to give this assessment? One season? Five seasons?

FFS how do you people actually think football clubs run, so utterley naive :contefacepalm:

All clubs have a department looking at targets/transfers whether we have a manager or not, Levy isn't sitting there on football manager looking at players mate, that's not how it works.
Excuse the ignorance but what is your experience with the inner workings of a premier league club?

And is it realistic that the staff currently in the front office would start positioning and negotiations for players ahead of the transfer window opening but without knowing what direction the.new DOF and manager want to go in?

Probably the same experience as you.

I think we need to use some common sense here, what do you think the staff at our club are doing at this moment, the scouts, the data analysts etc...do you think they're sitting on their hands waiting for news of a DOF to come in, or do you think they are actually doing their jobs tht they are paid to do?

Ask yourself why we are being constantly linked to players from verified sources, despite not having a manager or a DOF in place? I keep bringing up the Liverpool example but you keep ignoring it, they haven't had a Sporting Director for a while yet that hasn't stopped them looking at players, there's literally no difference to us or any other club. You guys put way too much emphasis on having a DOF when in reality the department can run by itself without a director in charge as everyone has roles and they understand what they are looking for.

You're making this much more difficult than it needs to be - You guys literally think Daniel Levy is sitting there playing FUT in his office and selecting targets from FIFA, it's mental. 😆

Scouting and recruitment is a long term process, it's not like everything begins in April when the rumor mill begins, the identification and sorting of targets for this window started months, years ago.

Which is to say, on some level, even when a new DOF is hired, they are working from within Paratici's concept, at least for a period of time.

Hiring a new DOF in June is a little bit like hiring a new manager in, like, February in that way. It will take time to bed in your ideas.

That's one reason why the lack of stability in that position has been so harmful for us.

Nobody thinks that. You're being disingenuous.

No doubt the scouts are busily scouting (probably without a clear strategy given...gestures at the last 5 years) and some poor bastards are dealing with incessant agent enquiries, trying to sell us the next Clinton Njie from Ligue 2.

But who is actioning this information?
If it's acted upon now it'll 100% be on Levy's direction. Otherwise they are most certainly waiting for Munn, the DoF and/or the permanent Head Coach to be in place.

So we're either in limbo, or Levy is calling the shots. AKA there won't be any coherent strategy in place, and the summer will be a rush job to try and sign whoever is available. Transfers were slightly  better run under Paratici but that has now been thrown in the bin again. Any major signing in this interim is a big big risk. So most likely, there won't be any.

And Liverpool at least have a very well established coach and staff in place, so it really isn't the great comparison that you are implying.

Stop quoting me you, I don't have any time for you whatsoever.

We haven’t learned our lesson at all. The club just don’t fucking get it.

Whilst I understand going in for young talent and bringing players in for the future, we absolutely should not be looking at players with the view of them playing first team football next season. We don’t even have a fucking manager. Get someone in, allow them to decide what type of players they want. Let them assess the squad, decide who isn’t good enough and back them financially by bringing in the players that they want.

We’ve done this with Jose and Conte, two proven winners. Given them a squad full of fucking shite and expected them to work miracles with it.

Levy and the board just never learn. Everyone can see this apart from them.

Liverpool have a manager and a clear direction. Their staff knew what to recruit for.

You are dodging the point. Boring

Well I was being facetious actually, for the record I don't actually think Daniel Levy is sitting in Hotspur way in his Tottenham boxer shorts playing FM but it's certainly been implied heavily in here that he is solely looking at our transfers which is completely foolish.

I suspect no-one is acting upon it because we aren't buying players now and the window isn't open yet, that's kinda how scouting works, attaining a list of targets ho the club want to be looking at, you don't need a DOF to sit there and tell qualified staff how to suck eggs. I suspect if we plan to bring players in when the window opens without a DOF then yes Levy will have the final say but we aren't at that stage yet.

So your fears about any major singing in the interim can be put to rest because it's literally impossible to sign anyone now.

And you're really missing the point about Liverpool, I only brought them up because they don't have a DOF in place and they have staff working round the clock that's my point, the only difference with them is that they have a coach and we don't but the coach doesn't work on bringing players in so I'm not sure what your point is.
