Did someone just say losses don’t mean anything?

Well they mean something but they are not the main issue, the media focus on the fact we lost X amount of games, rather than we WON X amount of games and only had 2 DRAWS, the WIN, DRAW ratio is the main main factor as you can see from the league position.

23 wins this season.

Since we last won the league, we've only bettered 23 wins TWICE. (1966-67 and 2016-17) - in fact, we've only won more than 23 games in a league season just 6 times in our entire 137 year history.

So that's two times in 58 years that we've ever done better than this season when it comes to winning games and some of those seasons were 42 games long.

Meanwhile in our history we've lost 13 games or more in 61 seasons. We've only participated in 112 league seasons. So in over half of our league history.

Loss column is indeed disappointing. As disappointing as how many goals we've conceded late on and definitely something to improve on next season.

Looking at the Premiership in isolation we have for the 2nd year running achieved a lower points total and are 15 points down on 2 years ago and 6 on last season. Lots of mitigating factors and 2 semi finals and a final in the cup more than make up for it. As long as we do improve the side then next season should be better.
