Are they a threat?

They're only 5 points behind & arguably they have one of the easiest run-ins of the lot . . .

Newcastle v Liverpool (H)
Swansea v Newcastle (A)
Newcastle v Bolton (H)
Newcastle v Stoke (H)
Wigan v Newcastle (A)
Newcastle v Man City (H)
Everton v Newcastle (A)

What does everything think, are they a legit. threat?

Add Chelsea Away to that list as well.

Swansea Chelsea, Everton Away
City, Liverpool at home.

5 tough games.

I don't think they will trouble us.

Sorry, for some reason the BBC fixtures list doesn't include it . . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/tea ... d/fixtures

I would back the barcodes to beat Liverpool at home, on current form, and Everton away is the final day of the season when the toffees will probably have little to play for.

Agree with you RE: chelski, citeh & swansea away - hopefully they can do the business (perhaps chelski draw would be most preferable for us).

Fingers crossed!

Yeah Newcastles website says the Chelsea game was postponed, might be why its not on the BBC site.

Everton will probably have nothing to play for, but Moyes would still make sure they put up a good fight as usual.

Wigan away and Stoke at home can be tough too, Wigan are a funny side and are in a relegation battle so will be desperate for home wins, and Stoke, as we know, are nobody's fools/

We're going to finish 3rd. The rest don't matter.
oh but it does.

Woolwich rely on the champions league $ to break even iirc. and without champions league football to offer to new recruits Woolwich and Chelsea, although they will probably just throw crazy wages at any player, the two might find it harder to recruit the new players both of those sides badly need.

Newcastle for fourth!!!!11

edit: loving the new word filter

Fair play to them etc. and chapeau off to Pardew - i think they have been very interesting in their signings- Cabaye, etc. clearly looking at europe and taking a punt in the mid range

But cant see Ashley putting his hand in his pocket next year to allow them to push on- and maybe a few clubs may raid them

and i think they will finish 6th

Must be scheduled for FA Cup weekend then.

I don't think Newcastle are a threat to us. I'd be surprised if they finished above Chelsea in 5th let alone in the top 4. They would have to win practically every game and I don't think they are capable of that.

Good point. I'd even take 4th with Newcastle in 3rd if it meant both Chelski and the scum didn't qualify for CL.

If we fell from these past few years of grace, and we were mid-90's genuine no hoper Tottenham stuck to 10th place downwards, I'd sooner see us drop than languish there.

The thrill of spanking teams week in week out in a lower league, and winning a title would be much more fun than knowing you can't even qualify for the UEFA with 12 league games to go.
