PL Mascots

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My son was a mascot at the Burnley match. Paid £280. Worth every penny. He got a full kit and to meet every player. Also got a shirt signed by the whole team that’s probably worth what I paid for him to be a mascot. At least 3 staff involved.

Some mascots are drawn from junior members.

When my lads are old enough, I’d definitely be willing to cough up the cash (if they wanted to do it, obvs).

Even if you have 11 mascots paying £500 each at 30 home games you only get £165k per season. It's chicken feed. I can't help but think we could get better PR value out of free places than that, especially if we e.g. donated them to sick children, those who've lost parents, or just achieved very well in local schools, not to mention it just being the right thing to do.

Anything free is not appreciated and abused. Look at the NHS and missed appointments. All teams should charge. Cannot remember when this practice started but cannot remember it being there before Premiership. If free then there will be a ridiculous waiting list and children not really interested in the club will be nominated. Will people with influence bribe officials to bump their child up the waiting list? Imagine a Spurs mad boy of 8 wanting this and being told there is a 10 year waiting list. I would be interested at how long the waiting list actually is. Clearly the price is not putting off genuine Spurs fans paying for children and all money into the club is good news.

As harsh as it might seem, I do think you need to ensure that this is something someone really wants. I’m far from loaded but would do something like this for one of my kids if they were really keen. Right now they’re not. If it was free I would probably have applied for a laugh.
