Hey All,

This was a legit question I was asked by a Spurs fan who started following Spurs in the late 2000's

My first question was have you seen the last managers in the last 40yrs? no neither have I - I would say he's the first manager to get a European Cup but you can't take away the complete disaster these last two seasons were! So even IF he gets the cup no I wouldn't say so in the slightest...

Just to read the room - thoughts on this?

I've been here since 2022 and have seen Conte and now Ange as Tottenham coaches.

To be honest, the game against those guys from the bridge left me a bit speechless.

When Tottenham play and win on April 10th and 17th? advance in the Europa League (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the team and everyone involved [including myself] that they make it).

"My team" from Frankfurt plays good and, above all, fast football (I hope they can prove that in Tottenham and Frankfurt), but Eintracht Frankfurt should, if possible, qualify for a place in international football in the Bundesliga.

For this reason – and (seriously), because I've already spoken with some very friendly people here – I would be very happy if Spurs pulled themselves together, fully focused on their tasks, and earned the respect they deserve from their remaining opponents this season – no matter where – (they have mine)!

If Ange wins the Europa League without playing himself, then I take my hat off to him.

He will (have to?) set up the team better, the returning players have to find their form again, and it would be great if everyone played for each other so that victories can be celebrated.
So if "he" and his players win the Europa League, then he has done a lot of things right in this league.

And—be that as it may—I think this manager is a good one and sincerely hope that he AND his players manage to turn things around for the better—this season and in both competitions.

A successful season for me consists of 1) strong performance in the league, and 2) best effort in cups

A manager should be able to reasonably compete in all competitions they are in if they have handled their summer business and roster building correctly.

As such, if Ange won EL I would not call this a successful season- our league performance has been too poor.

Been supporting spurs for the last 20 years, have only seen Ramos win the LC. If he was to win the europa league I still think the 3 worst managers would still be:-
1. Santini, 2. Ramos and 3. Ange.
If we were being honest with ourselves this downward spiral has been going on since probably Feb/March of the previous season.

No, and it's a stupid question because it would assume he has a chance of winning it and there is nothing to back up the notion he could. Spurs are effectively only still in the EL by default having edged past teams like Dynamo Dollop to fall face first into quarter-finals like a punch drunk boxer.

If you’re still standing in Round 12 ; all it takes is a lucky punch .

It’s obviously a hypothetical question ; but if he , somehow , brought that trophy home ….well it would be quite a thing ; to put it mildly.

Personally, and for obvious reasons I hope he does win it ; and we all get to deal with the existential question regarding his future with our club .

But , and the other hand ; a big part of me realises that he may not .

PS ; to answer the actual question ; it would have to be a “no” from me .

Honestly, of course I would love it if he could. I've always been desperate for us to win the EL when we are in it having listened to my father's stories about being at WHL in 1984.

But Ange is so bad I can't even consider the hypothetical scenario that he could. My mind literally sees it as impossible, hence my 'sack him now' mantra to keep already slim hopes alive.

Completely get what you mean ; this Club is currently turning us all into Philosophers of Logic , what , if , how and then what etc .

I’m obviously a generation older than you and 100 % agree with your father ; it was the best night ever .

Like ya pos!

I don't think we have a hope in hell against Frankfurt but crazier things have happened.
There you go.

Was going to reply but you’ve solved it.

Objectively the most successful. European trophy and a 5th place finish in 2 seasons lords it all over every other manager in my lifetime:

But Poch was easily the best manager in my lifetime
This was my point 'successful' in Europe but the rest? one of the worst but it all runs on IFs innit...

Answer:
No he won't be anything like the best, but in the highly unlikely event that we win the EL under him, it might possibly give him a small amount of ammo if he wants to argue that he's not THE WORST Spurs manager in the last 40 years - which he is.

No. For someone that claims things don’t bother him, he sure comes across as anxious and arrogant in his interviews.

Can’t even own up to his behaviour last night. Out of his depth

For me francis was the worst. Tried to turn us into QPR. Santini was way out of depth and quit as 1 or 2 results started to go bad. Left before shit hit the fan. Ange is the worst since Francis. The amount of injuries weve just replicates the francis disaster.
