Makes sense to me really. We got Caulker coming back next season who looks every bit a future superstar for Swansea. Kaboul has come along leaps and bounds this season so Kaboul and Caulker could be the future with Daws rotating in. Ledley will be around another season or 2 yet so Bassong had to go for his own good. Can't find anything confirming whether Nelsen is official or not yet.

He had his contract terminated by Rovers just before the deadline, so he's now a free agent to sign with us in the next couple of days I assume.

Friedel (if its him) on twitter says

"Again for all asking I had nothing to do with Nelson transfer. Found out after it was completed! Great pro!"

Nelsen will be like Gallas in that he can be relied on to come into the team when need be and use his experience. When Bassong came on he often did his rabbit in the headlights impression.

Harry is bringing in calm, experienced premier league performers to stay level headed in the most important run-in in recent times.

Nelsen and Saha will be happy to play when they can, Saha has won the Premier League with Man U so he has experience of a title run-in as well. Not the world beaters I'd have liked but they'll do a job.

All we need at this stage I think. Saha will come on and put a proper shift in, which is more than could be said for Pav. We're replacing players that have been eyeing the door for a while with a couple of players who are eager to work hard and impress. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Huddlestone to come back too. Will be like having a new player.

Like this. All we needed was players to do a job, Saha and Nelsen won't mind playing now and then till the summer. People worrying about Nelsen, he will hardly play unless were really unlucky with injuries.

I was moaning about these transfers before but now that I think about it-these players will be more than willing to put in a good shift...these might just turn out to very good transfers...

Their experience and attitude will be good to have around the squad as they know their place and have seen it all before. Better to have two experienced players like these in the dressing room than two that dont want to be there.

This... and that!

I think harry's strategy this window was to ship out people NOT happy starting on the bench (Peanut, Bassong & Corluka obviously) and replace them with EXPERIENCE COVER in the shape of Saha and Nelsen. Neither will disrupt the structure and feel of the 1st team, that's not why they've been brought in... but as Ossies knees pointed out, we now need players who can come on in the 65th minute (or whatever) and SLOT straight in... not give the impression they need 3 or 4 games to find their feet! Point is, as THIS stage (and our position) of the season, we can't AFFORD that luxury... if we need to call on you, be ready to put a shift in!

I've no doubt these two will be astute signings...

One thing worries me, with Saha on a 6-month short-term deal, and Ade not yet signed permanently, at it stands, come June, they could potentially both be gone, and we'll only have Defoe as our 1 recognised striker at the club... or are we going all out 3-pronged attack on Europe's finest strikers ONLY IF we secure CL football?

Either that, or there's gonna be a shed load of pressure put on Cameron Lancaster's young shoulders!!
