As a non-parent, I imagine supporting Spurs is like having kids. Most of the time they drive you nuts and you wish that they'd never been born. Then they do something that melts your heart and you're back in the vein of thought that they're the best thing on this earth.

Both! Right now it feels like a complete curse but all these bad days will be worth it if we do finally win stuff. We'd probably appreciate and enjoy a trophy more than any other fanbase in the league! So it could quickly become the greatest ever feeling if we did start winning!

But if we never win anything then we are so cursed!!

I must say that both my kids have given me much less grief than Spurs!

If you take a step back over the last 30 years how many clubs of the 92 has it been better to support?

maybe 6-7?

we've had it better than newcaste, and villa, and eveton, leeds, Forest

all "big clubs"

Leicester is interesting, a lot of shit days relegations etc but they did experience the holy grail I wonder does that moment of happiness sustain any
future shit? hard to say.

City and Chelsea won the lotto and were propelled to the top through outside influence I guess that's nice for them if a little fake and all the shit that comes with it, one was nearly in administration with assets being seized etc and the other has 115 charges to answer

United/Liverpool had it good - but also had long sustains baron periods having their own fans ask "are they cursed" etc

it's all relative really, it's about how much internal utility you can take from your club. Amsterdam for me was a feeling like no other, even though we eventually fell short, I was more hyped by that than 99 or 08.

fans of Palace/Swansea/Burnley make take high highs from winning certain games, otherwise it's probably pretty meh?

I think a lot of us on here are very guilty of speaking about Spurs in a vacuum like no other clubs exist, i get it, it' s a Spurs forum. we just don't often think how it is for others.

Majority of Liverpool fans support them because they were the most successful team in the 80s and Majority of United fans support them because they were the best team of the 90s and 00s. So yes they've seen their teams win loads but it began like that so its almost an expectation/relief when they do win stuff. While when things go wrong it's 10 times worse for them.

United have won a lot more than us in the last 10 years but do you think United fans have had a happier 10 years than us? I dont think so. They've prob had the worst 10 years any football fan could experience given their dramatic drop in levels. Winning an FA cup means nothing for them

Majority of their fans are liverpudlians or macunians to be fair just as the majority of our supporters are N. Londoners

It's a blessing. Other supporters have to watch 9 months of football across 4 competitions to end up disappointed with no trophies. By March, Spurs supporters get to focus on gardening, booking holidays, and preparing for the summer sports and festivals.

Don't get me wrong , i'm not a glory hunter ....but sometimes it does make me think why we have such massive support and whatever it is 8 th richest club in the world ,when we look at what we've won ?
Cos we used to win things and generations have passed on who they support to younger fans. Problem is we have accountants and consultants in charge of our club. Not football minded people. They've rinsed our support and thinking throwing a few legends matches and keep showing 60s and 80s reruns will keep the fans moderately happy. The reality is were being rinsed. Everything is now in place for the board to deliver. No more excuses.
