I’m a pretty zen type of person.

My guru - Josh - always tells me that what we put into life we get back. We need this type of mindset right now.

Think positive thoughts and positive things will happen. You create your own “luck” if that what you want to call it. We prefer to call it Chi.

Keep your “Chi” positive and your life energy or your “Wang” should always be full of hope and vigour.

In that spirit this thread is for the positive people. I can’t be reading negative shit all the time.

So if you bring negative vibes to my chi or try to manhandle my wang into a less positive place I will disagree with you.
To achieve the required balance I will agree with another of your posts somewhere else. Maybe. If I like you.

And remember the darkness always comes before the light. Don’t be afraid to open your eyes and your mind to the glory glory that awaits.

We had just come off our most diabolical season since… AVB? Longer?

Give the man time. Everyone would have taken 5th at the start of the season.

Klopp won 16 in his first season. Arteta won 14 in his first season. Postecoglou has already won 18.

Give him time you melts.
 
I’m absolutely fine. The glory is clearly imminent. Our end of season form doesn’t have me the slightest bit concerned.

Mentioned it in the Ange thread, his first season in the J League he nearly got relegated then won the league in the second season.

Poch in his first season here finished 5th with 64 points earning Europa League football. We’re pretty much there now

Ange WANTS to be here. He’s at Tottenham Hotspur in the premier league.

This is the biggest job of his career. No conte histrionics, Mourinho barbs etc etc.

He was hurting last night. You could see it. This may sound wrong but I like that. I like that he clearly cares.

We will go to Australia and Japan and in August be a new team.

I find it crazy GLC is still here. Sessegnon. Plenty of others on our books who are not needed but we pay them anyway.

Lets clear the decks of the crap.

And see what happens in the second season.

I’m not a football tactics expert and I don’t have inside info as to why our players are consistently inconsistent.

So I’m not even trying to worry about it. Like you said I can see that Ange is a genuine man with a back bone and beliefs. He gives a fuck and he doesn’t hate us. That will honestly do for me. I can support that.
 
I feel safe (ish) on this thread to make this point.
My only real criticisms of Ange would be that he hasnt appeared to be too bothered about the cups and that he is saying (I get the reasoning behind it but, ) that he is no concerned about getting 4th.
If I cast my mind back to when Arsole Wanker took over Woolwich and they built the library, there mantra was completely that 4th was the aim each season , just to get into the CL and earn the pennies that come along with it and not really challenge for the title. This set them up to pay off the stadium without affecting other finances. However, what they did also in that time was to win domestic cups and got the winning mentality to carry on winning those cups.
Now, I get that they still havent won the league in countless years but, they have improved above us on the field and are now regularly challenging.
Should we not be trying to follow this model to a degree? I dont want to become like them apart from the silverware as they are not only bad losers but bad winners but, long term, they are safe in the knowledge that they are a winning side.
I feel that if Ange could go along that road, he would keep everyone happy from Levy (pennies rolling in year after year) and us fans (even the ones that will never be happy) .
What do you think? or am I just talking Bollox?

Sir Alex. The greatest premier league manager needed time.

For me a minimum of 2 seasons. 4 windows. Will show us a lot.

I’d like to think season 3 - like poch is where some magic could happen. By then that team is your vision of how you want to play.
 
We are still fifth in the table, we could end up 4th or worse 6th or 7th. Let's wait for the last game of the season. 7th would be a failure, 6th mediocre season, 5th is an improvement & 4th would be excellent.

However, the manner we are playing now, can't defend set pieces, can't create chances and score from open play plus the midfield four of Bis, Sarr, Bent and HBG are in dire state are serious worrying signs. To add, Ange's tactic which fcuk knows what it is, is not working.

With regards to what he says in the media, I’m not sure I’d get too worried about it.

I can’t help but feel it’s one of those situations where he says one thing in front of the media but behind the scenes says something different. I think he wants to try and take the pressure off of the players and the coaches

e.g.

Saying set pieces aren’t an issue - he knows they are, but doesn’t want a witch-hunt on Jedinak and doesn’t want the players to believe the hype created in the media about Vic on corners.

The other one was his comments on not caring about Top 4, that got massively taken out of context. What he meant was that he’s not interested in just a top 4 challenge, he wants to win the league. he’s not satisfied with just settling for Europe.

No one sane wants him sacked

We have to back someone this same core of players is on its 4th manager now. It's obvious where the problem lie and its the squad.

Ange will know who he wants and who he doesn't, my fear is that the goons who own us don't have the stomach to do what needs doing and accept the losses on players that need to go.

Forward line needs a full rebuild and it's looking more and more like we need at least 2 new midfielders also. And that's just this summer
