Shame really as he seems a nice genuine guy.Bizarre player. I’m not sure what Chelsea did to him but he was the never the same
And rightly so. At ibrox he was a fucking disgrace. I despised him after that game. It’s fair enough having a poor game and things not happening for you in a match but to not actually try or run is criminal. This guy relies on pace and he jogged about being a man down at Ibrox where it was hostile. I’m glad Ange outed him and should have been sent back to Germany that night. It's interesting how Ange treated him. One of his earliest transfer decisions last summer was to bring him back and pay his large salary, presumably thinking he'd be an important player with Perisic and Solomon leaving. Then after saying he'd never criticise his players he absolutely roasted him in public after Rangers away then banished him permanently a few weeks later.
I hope he takes a gamble on himself and tries what Mario Götze did. Drop down a level to a slightly smaller top league (Götze went to the Netherlands) and try to either re-find his form or rework his game so that he can be a productive player.Bizarre player. Said it before but I think Ange thought he could turn Werner around, utilise his pace and get the best out of him in his system. He said something in one of his press conferences around December/January about liking players with a sort of potential redemption arc story. Was pretty clear last season that he wasn't worth re-loaning.It's interesting how Ange treated him. Not quite on the same level, but his brain did a Deli AlliBizarre player. I’m not sure what Chelsea did to him but he was the never the same
With his earlier pedigree, the first loan was understandable, it was worth a shot to see if we could turn things around for him. But the second loan....based on what we'd already seen....was beyond absurd. It's a shame that nice guys very rarely succeed at a high level, but apart from a couple of flashes, this loan deal hasn't been worth the cost in wages. I would rather we had persevered with one of the youngsters.
However, I wish him well for the future.
Haha, yet another genius call from this forum’s chief dunce.Minimum 15 G/As next season if he stays fit.
I'll stake my reputation on it.
The bloke and his redemption arc crap. As Big Pussy Bompensero said "Only Noah's got an Ark !" How about, buy quality get Balon dor. Like Luka Modric destroyed England at Wembley win the race to get him amazing footballer.Said it before but I think Ange thought he could turn Werner around, utilise his pace and get the best out of him in his system. It is odd because last season he actually had a formula for Werner that worked. Use his speed and play in crosses to Johnson/whoever is on the other post. It was quite effective.Said it before but I think Ange thought he could turn Werner around, utilise his pace and get the best out of him in his system.
