Management Too many games?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I have just posted this on Reddit and thought I’d re post here to see what you people think.

I’ve been a spurs fan since 81 and I’m really disappointed with our league form but I don’t think it’s just down to Ange or his tactics or the players. Maybe the amount of injuries we’ve had hasn’t helped but I think it’s down to the number of games we’ve had to play. Over the last few months I’ve noticed that we don’t seem to have any luck. We lose most of the 50-50s , balls rebound to the opposition when we’re in possession and the opposite when it happens to the opposition. Our defensive headers go to no one, the opposite happens to the other team they always find their own players. Balls hit us rather than the opposition to go out for throw ins, goal kicks/corners. Opposition players run into 2/3 of our players and still retain possession ours lose the ball in that situation and we end up getting caught out of possession. Now before everyone thinks I’m clutching at straws and making excuses I watched the cup final yesterday and the same things happening to Liverpool. They were second to everything and Newcastle had all the luck. One thing Liverpool have in common with us is the amount of games they have played this season. I think we will see a similar sort of thing next season. Most of the teams who qualify for European competitions are going to have crap seasons.

What this club needs to do is to fuck off all the post season preseason touring over the other side of the world but they won't because it's all about the money. Proper rest over summer and an old school pre season vs the likes of Exeter,Colchester, Coventry etc with minimal travelling and not fucking up everyone's body clocks before the season even starts.

I think you should stick to posting nonsense like this on Reddit. You’ll probably find a more receptive audience there.

Like Liverpool and Woolwich are having a crap season... this has nothing to do with schedule or luck and everything to do with wanting it... we haven't had a modern day enforcer since... well I can't remember but look at Joelinton yesterday... first to everything, celebrating a block tackle, tracking back 50 yards to nullify an attack. He won nearly every 50/50s and every 40/60s and probably half the 30/70s... because he wanted it. Our club is a country club. Best training facilities, sauna's, hyperbaric oxygen therapy... come in at 9, have breakfast/lunch cooked by Michelin star chef, hang out in a state of the art gym, have a dip in the pool, go home at 12... we've built team after team of pussies who are flakier than puff pastry in a wind tunnel. Newcastle weren't lucky. They wanted it more and that can level the playing field when you are competing against teams with "better players" - when do you see our players busting a gut and putting everything on the line. Must be Ange's fault though... I for one am fed up of our players... I don't like Ange, I want him out but these players are taking the piss week in week out. Saw a video of Ange berating a teenager for asking him "what was that" after yesterday's damp squid. The same question can be posed to nearly our entire squad after every game.

Ange sets the ethos none of his words match the actions 'we don't stop' but I don't care if we concede goals, along as we score more. I didn't make a substitute because I want the players on the pitch to take the defeat. The blokes a clown the facilities are irrelevant. The players should live in fucking terror of conceding . You have to fucking hate conceding goals. The coaches are sub standard and the tactics are fucking incoherent. Fire them ALL watch players improve.

Sorry but I disagree. Happy to sack Ange but unless we change the country club feel, the next manager will have the same issues and we will be hounding him out...

What you seem to be describing isn't too many games, it's a witch's curse. And I think you may have a point.

it is

the players are being run into the ground. Check out the "sprints without the ball" stats

When we lose possession our formation is non existant so the players sprint way too much. They're knackered and its because of the "system"

One thing Liverpool have in common with us is the amount of games they have played this season.
If they walk away with the PL then no ones going to care very much that they lost and were 2nd best yesterday

And games against PSG arent quite the same as Qarabag and Effsberg

I watched the cup final yesterday and the same things happening to Liverpool.
extra time and pens against PSG in midweek? I'm not surprised . Are you?

Thanks Ange. A few pearlers there for your next press conference.

lol I wasn’t trying to say Liverpool are having a crap season. Far from it. Just that they have played a similar amount of games as us and up against a team who have played at least 10 games less than them they looked like they were the more tired of the two teams. Exactly how we have looked the last few months.
