wow, this is a tough one. So many different possibilities and position variants make it tough too.

I'll only go for players I've seen live though and in no particular order:

Berbatov
Ginola
Klinsmann
Gascoigne
Modric

Tried to get King in there but fundamentally he's a defender and while I appreciate the art of defending, that's not what I pay my money to see. I'm a spurs fan, not a gooner!!

That doesnt sound quite right tbh,King-esque defending is very pleasing on the eye..

Ledley King
Teddy Sheringham
Jermain Defoe
Gareth Bale
Roman Pavlyuchenko. Yes, really.

I hero worshipped Teddy as a young'un and Ledley is Ledley. Have we had better attacking players than Defoe and Super Pav in the time I have supported the club? Lineker, Gazza, Ginola, Berba, Modric, van der Vaart off the top of my head... But you can't help who you fall in love with and I fucking loved Pav.

edit: D'oh, Klinsmann definitely deserves a place in the list of players faaaaar better than Pav and JD!

Pav?

really?

I mean..... Pav?

:sandro:

the man who coupled the work rate of Berbatov with the ability of Rebrov :harryfacepalm:

Each to their own I guess

Rebrov was a low blow. Pav scored his fair share of important goals for us and a few screamers. Would Bale's stock be as high without those CL nights that probably wouldn't have happened were it not for Pav's screamer in the wankedoff, sorry wankdorf? The winner against Sunderland a little while ago could still turn out to be crucial for us this season. He was underused and treated pretty badly by Redknapp in my opinion.

If 'arry was the brilliant man manager that a lot of people say he is, he would make every single player he managed believe that they were capable of taking on the world and coming out on top, rather than making his chosen few feel special and doing whatever he does to the rest unfortunate enough to be managed by him. I can't deny that what he has done with certain players has been amazing and we are playing the most beautiful football I have seen in my time supporting the club, but nobody ever talks about the other side of the man, the side that seemingly takes just as much pleasure from destroying players as it does the success. Look at how disillusioned Pav was towards the end when he could have done a job for us with a little more love and encouragement. Was he a one-off? Ask the likes of Darren Bent, Gomes, Gio dos Santos or Seb Bassong. If 'arry doesn't fancy you, you're fucked and it really shouldn't be that way. Gio could have been the pacey cover for both wings that we'll end up dropping a load of money on in the summer, but unless whoever replaces 'arry in the summer likes what they see, we won't see the best of him.

Aaaanyway, I'm ranting again. As I said, I really can't explain why Pav made my list, all I know is that I haven't been this upset about selling a player for a very long time. I think I'll feel almost as sad when the inevitable happens and Redknapp finally gets rid of Gomes :(

Crouch scored his fair share of important goals, and provided more for the team with his all round game. I wouldn't put him in my fave 5 either.

Just my opinion about Pav, but I never understood the love he got from our fans, yet they hated Bent. To me they are the exact same players. Both have a great ability to finish, neither provide anything more to the team.
