Match Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They have had virtually no investment in the team for at least 2 seasons now, people complain about Levy/ENIC but seriously - compared to their board we have nothing to moan about at all.
Lambert did well last season, IMO. He basically committed to youth (little other choice) and had to ride out a turbulent season while they got to grips with the league. By the end of the season they were playing some good stuff, genuinely, and looked a shoe in for mid table this season.
However, for some reason (lack of Benteke perhaps?) this season it just didnt happen for them, and Lambert resorted to route 1 kind of shite which really disappointed me.
They have the makings of a very big club though, and being as low as they are could be the ideal candidate for a takeover. A few experienced players through the spine of that side and I wouldnt be surprised at a marked improvement.

I must have spent half the game watching the Villa fans and the seemingly endless amounts of beach balls they had brought with them. In other news I was sat next to a couple American fans, one in a Spurs away shirt admitted to supporting United but switched to Tottenham this season, he didn't seem to understand the offside rule.

Always liked Villa if I had to pick a second team!

There was a point where I was like that with them - Saunders and McGrath were superb for them one year and I had a soft spot for the side.

One of my best mates is a Villa fan so I end up talking about them with him as much as Spurs
They are an old established club with tons of tradition and silverware wins. Are a lot like us when you look at them.

="ChrisOTDH, post: 548751, member: 1508"]Villa fans were absolutely amazing yesterday. They really have put up with some shit and still sang us out of the ground all day.[/QUOTE]
They're always fun imo-never forgotten them singing happy birthday at the anniversary match-thank god we could finish the game with 3-1 and you f'd it up. Loved them singing rich in the morning yest-they do have a decent sense of humour!

The linesman getting hit by a smoke bomb at Villa park was some funny shit.
They just did their best to try and match that. Still failed though.

Was it them or the PL that were singing "Sherwood is an Ars***l fan"? Couldn't tell from where I was

Im sure it was Villa. And Singing "you're getting sacked in the morning" even though he was winning 3-0.

Its a weird feeling because I have no problem with the man, But I do think he's best out the door. So I was like "yes I agree with your song but perhaps you could be more polite about it?"

"Good luck with your future, we know you tried your best but it just didnt work out...in the morning."

Something like that.
