Management Transition Seasons

“Wildly offensive and ill informed”
The 2024/2025 season.

Are we about to call this a transition season? Is anyone already calling it just that?

To me every season since we got to the CL season has been a transition season. Nothing really changes. Just the manager and a never ending roundabout of players. I was really hoping this season might be different.

Does anyone expect something tangible from this season (a trophy maybe?) and Ange to still be here come May?

Or should we just be known as Transition Tottenham under Big Danny L?

I'm expecting mid table finish, out of all the cups as usual and , some occasional good games mixed up with shit like yesterday.

I'd call it a free hit

Ange has already proven that he'll win the lot with us

The possession stats so far this season are enough to make your heart go oh oh oh oh

We shouldn't care what the other teams say , why the hell should we care

We're on the right path , there will be bumps on the road

I'm enjoying the show

😊 😊 😊

We've been in a transitional season since 2019.

And We've transitioned steadily from shit to poor, which we can all agree is a positive thing

I think that transition seasons are fine when you're not charging a grand a season on tickets, if you want a transition Season, charge transition prices, not the most expensive match day tickets in the UK to see an established manager and squad fail to consistently perform.

My initial thought. “You’ll never sing that”. Quite inventive though.

So make a video of you and your mates singing this down the pub.

If this does catch on like the eriksen one did back in the day then fair play to you.

You’re not paying for the football anymore though. That’s not what premier league football is about. It’s all about the show.
(I guess the difference in pricing for cup competitions is where the value for money tickets come into play more.)

But the premier league you are ultimately paying for the shiny stadium and beer coming up from the bottom. And a huge fuck off bar.

If and when people give up their season tickets in high numbers prices might stay the same. But for all the complaining we sell out our league games every single time. And have a huge waiting list of members still.

It’s an addiction. When you’ve got an addict you take all the money they want to give you. Danny is not stupid.

Transition has been our default status since forever - we just occasionally get a bit of success along the way. Transition is actually a bit of a misnomer when it comes to us because it implies you're actually building something but usually any success we get is short-lived and doesn't get built upon to create more success - the last three trophies we won were fluke cup wins in the midst of poor league form; the last two came from managerial changes in the same season which means the success actually came during transitional seasons.

We're hoping things might be different under Ange but so far none of the three previous managers who tried to build long-term success through building their own team and implementing a "brand" of football (Jol, Redknapp, Pochettino) were able to win a trophy. We struggle to find a balance between nearly men coaches and managers who have that extra edge to get a trophy over the line. Let's hope Ange is it.

The team is doing exactly what ENIC has strategically set it up to do. Finish 4-7th and not worry at all about the cups. There will be some fun games to enjoy along the way (e.g. West Ham), but we'll ultimately fall short of any titles, every season.

This isn't a transition, this is it.

uh huh, people really need to lower their expectations. The whole title race, CL finalist thing was a anomaly. This is what were are under ENIC anything from 8th to 4th and maybe the odd league cup final every 5 to 10 years. you can't progress much more with the kind of players we buy and the wages we pay unless the clubs youth punts we always purchase develop into unreal talents which again goes back to the Poch 2-3 year anomaly
