So losses of £190m over 3 years ........ need £86m of depreciation, youth development costs and other allowable expenditure to go below the £105m in 3 year limit to avoid ffp type sanctions in PL ....... but efl rules ?

Looks like Leeds are doing a "Leeds?"

Current rules remain place for 2024/25, but following season a new 'wage cap' set of rules similar to those put in place by UEFA will come into play - but PL will allow up to 85% of revenues to be spent on players whereas UEFA expect the ratio to gradually reduce to 60%.

From what we have seen so far in PL, if clubs do spend 85% of revenues on player costs, the clubs will likely lose money and might well become insolvent, so imo the 85% limit is too high by at least say 10% (ie a better max is 75%).

It is what was expected and is good news really. They all voted for it too so there cant be any argument about it.

Deducting points this late in the season is ridiculous.

Deductions should always happen the following season or there should be a cutoff limit after 10 or so games.

Otherwise, you risk these decisions being made with the knowledge of whether it will or won’t impact important positions in the table like relegation or Europe.

For example say Luton go down this year and Leicester stay up next year because Forest gets points deducted next year for cheating the teams this year.

It's shit that deductions have to happen this late but it's the least worst option until we can make it semi - real time. I believe France and Spain run regular checks.

It’s awful. Imagine Chelsea get a 10 point deduction right now. They’d happily take it on the chin because it’s not a punishment whatsoever at this point . But if they get it at the beginning of the year, it at least has potential to be a punishment.

Think that's better than:

Who the hell calls them "The Leeds"?

Guys, you are kidding yourselves if you think the likes of Citeh and the Chavs will get punished in any way that fits their crimes.

The likes of Sheff Utd, Forest & Everton getting points deductions is classic "Bully the little guy".

Am I saying they did nothing wrong, no, but it's far easier to just throw punishments on them so the authorities can say "Look! We're enforcing the rules!"

The Chavs will get the punishment they deserve in the long run they are a spent force. Hopefully the commision see the same for City.

They won’t be punished by the authorities

The extent of their financial doping wasn’t clear, their punishment is that oil / blood money from Abramovic being turned off

They likely received 150M from him every year (1/3 of their revenue). That’s gone, they are fucked

I think an independent regulator with nothing to do with government is a must. But it could just end up being another set of people with their own agendas and who don’t know what they are doing. It’s a hard one. However, it can’t go on as it has done for the last 20 years. So something has to change. No wonder the PL are shitting it though. They don’t want those skeletons falling out the cupboard I suspect.
