Since José Mourinho’s arrival at Tottenham, there has been a huge buzz surrounding the London club. After two consecutive wins against West Ham and Olympiakos things are looking more positive for the Spurs. In Mourinho’s former club Manchester United, their manager Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer is under severe pressure, and it’s about to get tougher as he is now battling the ‘The Special One’ for the top six. Today they have the same points in the league.

Fan predictions

We all know that Mourinho is the sort of manager that steps in, gets results right away and leaves after a couple of years. He is energetic and charismatic and knows how to push his players beyond their limits. He’ll get them to run through brick walls for him. Unlike Mourinho’s philosophy, Ole has a long term vision for United and seeks to create an environment where the academy players can come through and play in the first team.

Regarding the outcome of this season, both United and Tottenham fans expect Mourinho to finish higher up the table than Ole. People all over the world will follow the managers’ battle. And many sure will bet on their different results; from betting shops in India to casino online in Canada and the UK.

Can the youth come to Ole’s rescue?

This season, Manchester have done their worst start since 1989. But there are still a few good things to hang on to for United fans. For example, all their goals in this season of the Premier League have come from players twenty-three years of age or younger. The likes of Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Greenwood, Daniel James, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford makes the team feel more exciting and promising. They are bringing hopeful energy of youth, and perhaps they can do just enough this season to ensure that Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer gets to keep his job. But Mourinho’s return to the Premier League will have fans scrutinizing the two managers’ results, comparing their every step. Yes, Ole must step up his game and bring home the results United need.

Manchester United vs. Tottenham

On Wednesday, December 4th Manchester United and Tottenham face each other at Old Trafford for their first battle this season. It can be a season-defining game for Solskjaer who has to win. But does he have the tactical mind to outwit Mourinho? We will have to wait and see. But one thing is sure: Mourinho will do his best to try and prove to everybody that the problems during his time at United have been in the club and not with him.
