In the wonderful world of sports, there are hundreds of different players, teams and leagues that grace the world with their undeniable talents, while making fame and fortune in the process, but which are the most powerful sporting leagues in the world? Wonder no more as here are a few of them and what exactly makes them worthy of the list, from their net worth to their most valued and beloved players whose names make it all over the news as well as in tips for betting. 

Premier League 

Without a shadow of a doubt, football is the most famous, beloved and watched sport in the world, dominating sports more and more as time goes on, but when it comes to the pinnacle of football, its is none other than the English Premier League that tops the list. 

With the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United/City and Liverpool, the league is almost impossible to beat when it comes to fame, fortune and most importantly, skill. It is almost impossible to fathom the Premier League’s worth but has set records due to the size of its combined income, generating around £4.5 billion in a single year making them the most profitable in history. The league has everything that sporting fans crave and not only are the names of the teams recognised around the world but players are amongst the most famous in sports.

NFL 

Some may think that American football is just popular in the United States and Canada, but they would be wrong as the NFL – National Football League – is one of the most beloved leagues in the world. The NFL has an estimated worth of just under $3 billion and due to the fact that is it a lesser-regarded sport in some countries, that is a huge amount of money to generate. 

Just as other famous sports, the teams and players have become household names, with the likes of Tom Brady and Russell Wilson not only gaining immense fame from the sport but also being some of the highest-paid athletes in the world. 

Not only do fans love the NFL for the players, but the Super Bowl is one of the most unmissable sporting events in the calendar, even for those who aren’t avid followers of the game. The Super Bowl is held each February and catches the attention of hundreds of millions of viewers from all over the world who tune in or turn up for the amazing gameplay, phenomenal half time shows and specialised adverts. 

NBA

Basketball is yet another beloved sport across the globe and when it comes to basketball there is none other the NBA – National Basketball Association – being the centre of the Basketball universe. It has produced some of the most legendary athletes over the years that have become famous around the world with even those who fail to follow the game, such as Micheal Jordan, Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. 

The league generates an estimated $8 billion in revenue across the 30 teams, in which are universally known, some of the most popular being the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.
