Tottenham Spurs has established itself as a top-tier team in the Premier League and also enjoys a worldwide following. The Spurs is also a force to reckon in Europe as it has made many appearances on the UEFA Champions League and even reached finals in the 2018/19 finals where it lost to Liverpool.

It is also very easy to find Spurs games that you can bet on in an online casino as it has defined its space on the global football space. The team attracts top talent from all over the world. However, the team has also had its fair share of flaws when it comes to signings. The following are some of the worst Spurs signings of all times:

Vincent Janssen

The struggle to be Tottenham’s greatest striker ever is real. However, the Dutch striker only managed to net six goals after appearing 38 times for the club. The striker was bought at £18.6m and was expected to act as a backup for Harry Kane, but luck was not on his side. The player was loaned to Fenerbahce but was later sold to Monterrey after he did not show any improvement.

Paulinho

The Brazilian midfielder was acquired at the cost of £17m but could not deliver to the expectations. He made 67 appearances, created 7 assists and netted 10 goals during his stint at the spurs. Paulinho was sold to Barcelona in 2015.

Roberto Soldado

The promising striker was acquired at the cost of £26m. The Spaniard played for the Spurs for over two seasons, made 76 appearances but scored only 16 goals. Roberto was sold to Fenerbahce after his style of play failed to sync with that of the Spurs.

Federico Fazio

He joined the club in 2014 and played for the Spurs for three years. Fazio was acquired on an £8m deal and made 32 appearances. He was consistently loaned to other teams before he was finally sold to AS Roma.

Helder Postiga

He was one of the most promising young talents when he was playing for FC Porto. He joined Tottenham in 2003 alongside other signings such as Freddie Kanoute, Bobby Zamora, and Robbie Keane. However, he netted only two goals and was released to join his former club one year later. The Portuguese retired from active football later in 2017 after playing for clubs such as Lazio, Deportivo La Coruna, Sporting CP, and Valencia.

Mbulelo Mabizela

The defender was signed in 2003 from Orlando Pirates. He made just seven appearances for the club even though he was billed as a technically sound and strong defender. His most remarkable performance while at the Spurs was the goal he netted against Leicester City. Mabizela would later be released from the club after several disciplinary cases after two years.

Grzegorz Rasiak

He was acquired from Derby County in a desperate move to reinforce Spurs attacking front in 2005. Martin Jol and Damien Comolli facilitated the move, but the striker did not net even a single goal for the Spurs. He made nine appearances and was later loaned to Southampton. Spurs would later complete his sale to the same club.

Kazuyuki Toda

The Japanese midfielder joined the club on loan in 2003. However, he did not show any commendable impact even after appearing four times for the club. His signing is believed to have been a gimmick to win the Asian fan base.

Jonathan Blondel

The Belgian midfielder made his debut Premier League appearance when he was just 18 years. This player was very promising when playing for Mouscron, and they even won the Belgian cup. However, Blondel failed to shine at the London club, and his first-team appearances started to dwindle. The club finally let him go at the cost of €1.20m to Club Brugge, where he stayed for 11 years.

David Bentley

The midfielder was acquired from Blackburn Rovers in 2008 at the cost of €22m. The former Arsenal player spent five years at the Spurs, where he made 62 appearances. Bentley’s start at the club was remarkable, but his vigor started to die towards the end of the 2008/09 season. He was loaned to different teams such as West Ham, Rostov, Blackburn and Birmingham before he retired in 2013.

Tottenham Spurs has crafted its space on the global football space and, gamblers looking to try their luck at a kasyno online will also come across a Spurs-themed slot. The club has had remarkable signings and flops, as you can see from the above players.
