I think schurrle would he a great signing.

It seems that he's off to Dortmund and I didn't particularly like the look of him in the pl or with Wolfsburg either
Didn't know much about this 'Goatse' player, nor what he even looked like... so I punched his name into Google Images...

I came across this piece on Gotze this morning. It was written before our links to him and I found it a very good read.
The Whitehouse Address: The Disappointment of the Talented Mario Götze
What is it about footballers? everyone has his illiterate father be his manager or agent, are they all that daft?Apparently, our interest in Götze is firming up, with Bild now reporting that we've held at least two meetings with his manager (his father) and Dortmund possibly turning their attention to Schürrle.
Report: Spurs have held two rounds of transfer talks with Mario Gotze's father
It didn't put me off him so much but certainly got me thinking about other players who once excelled and have moved and never regained their form. I am sure there are players that have resurrected their careers, I just can't think of any. The one thing I do have faith in is Poch's ability to coach players and improve them, so I'd like to think he could sprinkle his magic dust onto him. Thanks for the link. I was excited at the prospect of Götze but after reading this article I m not sure a move to Potch's Tottenham would be good for either party.
What could possibly go wrong? What is it about footballers? everyone has his illiterate father be his manager or agent, are they all that daft?
Great post as usual.
Assuming he came, the biggest challenge would be expectation, media and fans, if he is struggling for form his name and reputation still would probably dictate a player to walk straight into a side and impose himself, when evidence might suggest we would need a patient fan base whilst he is re-built and re-introduced. Something we are not.
I think thinking in this way is folly at this point.
Last season I thought Dier moving into DM was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of, he looked awful in pre-season and many on here agreed. Then he becomes the best DM in the league.
You can't possibly know if he'll replace them or not, Poch often surprises us. The idea that "He wouldn't replace any of our attacking trio" is a complete assumption based on limited knowledge.
"Bench Warmer" tends to mean an inferior player you only turn to when someone is injured. I don't think anyone in our team is a "Bench warmer". Davies coming in for Rose or Trippier for Walker barely impacts the team anymore, that's how good our back up options are. Poch is clearly trying to make a team that could be any 11 and still be world class, it amazes me that people still don't fully get this or refer to it, instead seeing a traditional "First 11, first attacking trio" with everyone else being "bench warmer". That isn't how modern football is going, especially not Tottenham. Those statements are Redknapp era.
Poch doesn't want an A-Team. He wants a rotating 23-25 man squad that can always win. Gotze fits into this.
I don't know about you, but in a must win game with 20 mins to go I'd rather bring on Gotze than Pritchard. This "Bench warmer" would win us far more points than one might think.
I like chadli.Schurrle is statistically identical to Chadli, who is deemed second class.
His stats are actually pretty impressive, despite a poor season where he was out of favour

In terms of output per game, he's actually improved from 2014. The main issue is that he's nowhere near the performance levels he was hitting in 2012-2013 (Making a goal every 89 minutes) and 2013-2014 (Making a goal every 100 minutes). This raises questions over whether he ever can hit that level again or if he's on a slow decline at the age of 24.
