shame we'll never know the full details of the deal (if it happens), expect Levy will only give 10% of any profit so after he has taken into account the tea breaks, grass used, heating, etc. we will be negative -10m so they'll owe us £1m... Handy when the landlord sets his own rates :levywhoa:

He won't go for anywhere near that. I think he'll go for under 20m. Wages at Bayern are reportedly 140k Euros per week. Even with the collapse in the pound that's 119.5k per week * 52 weeks = ~6.2m per year without any cut in pay whatsoever.

We can afford that. There's room for Levy to maneuver on this one.
If we give a pie eating Bayern Munich reserve 120K a week somebody needs sacking.

Imagine the reaction from Lloris, Kane, and co. if that happened while they're all on 100k or less.....heads would roll.

Or he can stay put, get paid and then get a massive sign-on fee as a free agent next year

Ancelotti and Rummenigge have already told him and the press that he has no future at Bayern. If Gotze is willing to sit on the bench for the entire year just so he can get paid more, then I don't think he's a good fit for Spurs anyway.

Götze is a top class player, but we won't break our wage structure for anyone. We've never done that. If we sign him then I expect a big bonus and about £70-80pw.

I don't get the negativity surrounding him. It's near on impossible to get in the Bayern team unless you're an absolute world beater, and Götze is not that, but he's a great player and would improve us a lot.

He worked fantastically in Klopp's system at Dortmund, so I wouldn't worry about work-rate and mentality.

Götze would be wanktastic.

The issue is not him.

It's rather our list of priorities. We have more important voids to fill in the squad.

I expect all of Chadli, Yedlin, Fazio and possibly Carroll and Mason to go anyway. If MG signs, I too would expect us to let one of Eriksen, Lamela or Son leave too for whatever reason.

No Gotze deal imminent
Following on from his quotes regarding new signings, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenegge has also revealed there is currently no deal in place for Mario Gotze to leave the club.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away since the end of the season, including a switch to Premier League Spurs, but the Roten chief says there is nothing on the table.

He has, however, revealed that Pierre Hojbjerg is currently undergoing a medial at Southampton ahead of the new season.

Pierre-Emile has gone to Southampton for a medical, it was his wish to go to a club where he will be a first-team player. The discussions with his agent are going very well," continued the chairman.
As for other players that might leave the club, nothing is happening at the moment.
*************

Probably reading too much into this.

Interesting that Roten said nothing is on the table instead of Gotze isn't leaving?
