New stadium works - an update 11 July 2016 - News - tottenhamhotspur.com

The latest developments can be seen in the above official images.

Over the past few weeks, works have also been taking place to complete the removal of the Tottenham & Edmonton Dispensary, The Red House and the former White Hart Public House situated on the High Road. The new stadium scheme has been designed to address crowd flow and safety issues along the High Road, which has necessitated their removal.

Prior to the demolition, key features of these buildings were removed in order that they can be retained, preserved and used within the new Club museum to be housed in the Tottenham Experience or donated to local heritage collections. These features include elements of the original Boardroom, such as the wood panelling and fireplace along with the front bay window from which famous Club celebrations onto the High Road took place. In line with this approach, the facade of the Tottenham & Edmonton Dispensary has also been retained and will form an integral part of the new Tottenham Experience.

Following the successful removal and restoration of the iconic Tottenham Hotspur Cockerel and Clock, and the careful dismantling of our famous black gates at the entrance to White Hart Lane on Bill Nicholson Way, we have adopted a similar approach here to ensure that the identified features will be able to be reinstated in the future as part of the Tottenham Experience and around the new stadium development.

The new Tottenham Experience scheme will incorporate, fully restore and bring back into use the Grade II listed Warmington House, as the centrepiece of the new Club and local area museum.

As always, we shall keep supporters updated with progress.

Jeez, they are really going for it...

The reason for the stadium demolition is that room must be made to allow one of the six stadium cores to be built...here are the plans, if you look around the outside you can see the six cores in dark gray.

Here's the demolition plans with the core superimposed, you can see that they are only demolishing just enough to get it fitted in...

Do you suppose those of us who use that North Upper entrance will have to shimmy up some scaffolding or will they install some school-gym type rope arrangement to climb up?
I'm hoping for the former as I was always shit at rope-climbing.
