Sorry, you don't understand, bless. I was asked which players we used to attract or sign are no longer on our radar. Well, obviously those players have since retired. That's the point really. The quality of players we used to be linked with, that were synonymous with Spurs, are now deemed to be way out of our range. I just used to love the excitement of seeing Gascoigne doing his stuff or Klinnsman, Ossie, Ginola, Lineker etc. Now we seem to be grateful if we pinch N'koudu or whatever his name is from under the noses of Watford

Or you mean the players we used to try to attract yet get turned down by? CJJ CJJ mentioned it earlier, Sugar really took us back to the dark ages with regards to the club's standing. No one half decent wanted to sign for us, irrespective of us being linked to them. The days when we signed Lineker and Gazza we were breaking the bank to sign them even then it was on borrowed money, thus forcing Scholar to sell the club as he'd fucked us with bad debt and buying Hummel. The early Sugar years we managed to get Klinsmann, however once he stitched us up Sugar was reluctant to sign players of the that ilk, we could have got Bergkamp FFS, that was a tipping point for us and Woolwich. Then ENIC came in it was virtually impossible to sign supposed 'elite' level names, see failed attempts at trying to get Rivaldo, Morientes, Diego, Kezman and even Dirk 'fucking' Kuyt.

I for one am happy with the way we go about our business, yes it can be frustrating. However I much prefer to see the likes of Dele, Dier, Rose, Walker all signed for peanuts compared to others really thrive and develop.

Oh, there are plenty of people like that who support Tottenham. Only real difference is that in just the past 2 or 3 seasons they've finally been silenced because the club has been remarkably successful at promoting from our academy and scouting cheap diamonds from the continent and lower leagues. They'll be back though.

Woolwich's situation has gotten to the point they are now because the club has been digging this hole all along. For the past decade plus the club and Wenger told the fans that the only reason they weren't splashing the cash was because they hadn't paid off the stadium yet, "but don't worry because that's almost behind us." First it was "We can't compete with Chelsea and United's money" then "We can't spend money like Man City". Now Wenger keeps insisting that he's GOING to spend big every window, then doesn't and cries about the supporters' unrealistic expectation when he walks away from a deal for being too expensive. And then to add insult to injury, fucking Leicester wins the title and proves that spending more money than everyone else isn't the only path to a league title and Wenger's already thin excuses simply don't apply anymore, anyways.

I'm proud of our team and how it's being run. I don't see why we need to promptly go out and start splashing 40-50m on players like Ozil and Sanchez that haven't delivered the title that Wenger promises every single year.

Exactly this - the Scum's days of success didn't even come from signing players for top level transfer fees - Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Vieira, Ljungberg, Petit, Anelka, etc all signed for very low or relatively low fees when any other club with the foresight (including us) could have bought them as well.

They could be set to spend big again though, they want Jonny Evans, WBA want 25 mil for him !!!!

Ooh, the patronising is strong with this one!

No, that's his name... or did you mean to say "Carlos Kickaball" per chance?

What a shambles that whole signing would have been if we've just fucked him back off to Germany, with a loss too.

That would either mean we're getting Nkoudou and keeping Njie or we're getting Nkoudou and Chadli ends up staying.

Or we're getting someone else.

AS saying we are really close to sign GK Pau Lopez.

I dont like selling Son, hoping he would get more minutes this year, but 20M euros is a good value for him and should mean we are after another AM before Sept 1st
