Upton Park just to rub it in for the disillusioned Spammers supporters at Stratford.

I don't get it. It doesn't look any different to how it's always been.

:eriksenlol:

He did the easy bit for someone with a lot of dosh. Most if not all football decisions he took were atrocious.

Firing Venables when he did was crazy. Playing really good football, and a really strong 2nd half of 92-93 season, I was really positive about the next league campaign. Within 2 years we were fighting relegation with Gross in charge, one of the lowest points as a supporter since 1967. So bad that even the Man in the Raincoat was an improvement.

A good owner/chairman sorts out the finances and appoints the best manager he can. Sugar could hardly fail on the first count, what with the PL and the dosh flooding into th game. But Christ what a mess he made on the 2nd.

tbf Venables was sacked for non-footballing reasons, the evidence against him was pretty damning and made his position untenable.

Agreed though I thought we were building something special in that 92-93 season - just another example of being Spursy!

I supported Tel,however he made those that did look like cunts when we found out he had been steeling money from our club. Fuck it's hard supporting this club at times.

Yeah I was big tel fan at the time as well and we had great young players coming through in the 92/93 season, Ruddock had put some much needed steal at the back and the Anderton & Sheringham combination once it clicked was unplayable at times. Plus Tel was always ambitious in the transfer market and I thought the only was was up and it seemed so cruel to have that ripped away.

I harboured a grudge against Sugar for years over that (that lasted into the Enic years) it was only after reading Tom Bower's Broken Dreams that i had my eyes opened to Tel's dealings.

Slightly off topic but Ken Bates also comes across as an utter cunt in that book as well..

The only chairman who championed sky, for obvious reasons, as one of the big five when the others voted for ITV ( ITV had promised to screen big 5 games more often) and under his ownership never finished in the top 6 and we're certainly not in favour with SKY.
Signed jurgen, good move but he left down to sugars lack of interest in the game and Sheringham fucked off becuause of him accusing teddy of feigning injury and refusing to give him a 5 yr deal.
Man in the raincoat how fucking depressing. Buying Wimbledon keeper, left back and centre back, Doherty up front.
Having that cunt in charge was treason. Leaking confidential meeting info to the press, which he wouldn't have done at his beloved Woolwich(when ENIC took over)on the same day he knew Bulcher was in negotiations with Judas's agent undermining the club and it's ability to focus on player contracts

One thing is for sure- looking at the speed with which it's going up, they ain't fucking about on site. It's quite amazing to see it emerging like a giant Phoenix. Hugely impressive already.

Apologies if posted before.
This from someone on LinkedIn (a Marketing and Events Manager if that's relevant)...
