Serious question for anyone else who was there last night...

Is it me exaggerating or was that view and experience as bad as I am making out?

For me it is absolutely pathetic, couldn't see the players, the subs warming up anything. I just kept shaking my head laughing..

Tell you one thing Mensa, they may have beaten us last night ( forgetting that we also beat them this season ) you can rest assured that they know they have to live in that ridiculous stadium for ever more..

It is killing them..

I can say in all honesty that if that stadium wasn't as bad as we have been making out, I would have come on here this morning and given an honest opinion ( win lose or draw ) but I can tell you, it's hideous beyond belief. If that were our stadium I would not renew my season ticket.

The whole experience is so flat and nothing.. I was looking forward to it because West Ham away has always been a great occasion but now it's gone.. that will never change.
The fans are different, the amount of non West Ham fans I saw in and around the ground was unbelievable.
It's like going to a royal variety show with piss poor seats..

I know all bullshit aside I was watching game and at 80 odd mins when I thought fuck it we are losing this I ignored the score and just looked at that gap between pitch and fans at halfway, the lack of noise, the rented feel about place it must not feel like home at all.

I know the area well and went took a look when last home and that walk to station it must eat them up inside, they have had their best asset taken away and heart ripped out their club

I was there for the Bale goal behind goal and atmosphere was unreal, for both sides. I bet it was terrible yesterday as you say next year the majority in stadium may not be West Ham at all

Shows how small they are by celebrating so much over a LEAGUE game..

It happens occasionally, palace beat Chelsea, the minnows sometimes beat the giants..
We beat them this season, they beat us.. is it really the highlight of a history??

And them saying we celebrated beating Woolwich, yes we did but that was because we finished above them, they are still 35 pts behind us.. hardly the same..

It's impossible to describe how shit that ground is.

Made the game feel weirdly unimportant - it's difficult to feel excited / nervous / disappointed by what's going on on the pitch as you don't feel a part of it.

You only have to read their stadium thread to know the majority of them truly hate it.

I'm sure beating us made them forget about it for a temporarily but you just know next time they're there, losing to someone like West Brom, stands stupidity quiet they'll know.

Thank you.. so it's not just me...

I was with 2 friends who said I was going to slag it off no matter how good or bad it was, but it's exactly how you described it, it didn't feel like being at a derby or even at a football match..
It was like watching a game in one of them squares with a big screen they set up for those who can't get tickets during a World Cup..

Beating your biggest rivals to finish above them for this first time in far too long, in the last ever derby at your ground is hardly comparable to last nights game :pochfacepalm:

I almost pity them

The stadium will kill that club - no way are people going to pay decent money to watch football there in the long term, and as soon as some stop going the atmosphere will get worse and worse.

I certainly won't be going back.

The funny thing is when they do try to start a song, which is not often, it's all out of sync as different parts of the ground are miles behind those that started it and it dies after first attempt.

That's why they have to use the man on the tannoy to try and keep them together..

Terrible result obviously but thought our fans wasn't really up for it yesterday.
Atmosphere was quite bad imo.

And shows how thick their supporters are that they are celebrating the fact that their players only turn up for 2 games a season, the other 36 games their players are doing this to their own supporters :dembelefingers: in terms of passion or commitment to the club.
