I still think it's important that he finds a head of scouting that he is compatible with and that accepts that he's the boss. He can't run trainings, coach games and scout new players all by him self. The departure of Mitchell and others could point at Poch not being the easiest to cooperate with. And some of the players bought could indicate a bit of lacking in the scouting department or in the communication between Poch and his scouts.

I so want this to be true... even if it isn't!
It is true. He was called like that. He was born in a small town called Murphy.

I bet this story has been told but it is always worth to mention it: Bielsa was in charge of the youth teams in Newell's Old Boys and was driving throiugh Argentina like the lovely maniac he is (Arg being the 8th biggest country in terms of size) looking for young promising players. He was told there was a child in Murphy who was very good and showed great character. Went to his house but got there at 2am (he got lost in the way). Mauricio's father was waiting for Bielsa but apologize for the fact that the boy was sleeping. Somehow Bielsa convinced his father to show him the boy. Mauricio was in his bed sleeping so Bielsa took away the sheets, saw his legs and said: "yeah, those are footballers legs" then offered his father the chance to join his team.

You know you are special when you have a obi wan type of story as a child with Bielsa.

So Bielsa walks into a strangers' house at 2am... and demands the Father pulls back the sheet on a sleeping boy, just so he can take a look at his legs...?:pochshock:
Righto, Nothing dodgy there at all then! :pochsmirk:

Apologies if posted before.
As a player, he was ruthless, tough and uncompromising (and a tad nasty at times!), produced some quality finishing too.

All his qualities are there, the leadership, organisation, mentality and emotion.

We're lucky to have him.

Some of his challenges were outrageous, you could have played him against Chelsea last season in that game and he would have fitted in perfectly.

No, it is perfectly normal.

That's all speculation on your part though.

On a speculative basis, I'd suggest that it far more likely Mitchell struggled with Levy... Hadn't he & Poch already worked together at S'oton. Surely we wouldn't have bothered bringing him in if there were existing issues between him & the existing gaffer?

On the day we announced Mitchell Poch instantly distanced himself from Mitchell and the decision to bring him in. He said he had nothing to do with the hire.

Now he could have done this for legal reasons, we paid Southampton compensation for Poch, maybe there was a clause in there somewhere preventing any poaching???? But for me it was a very odd thing to do, he didn't welcome him to Spurs or say he was looking forward to working with him. Then within a few weeks of Poch getting promotion to Manager, Mitchell is toast. 5+5=7 but I believe the relationship that was difficult was between Mitchell and Poch. Just a hunch.

Interesting... Such comments must have passed me by.

Tbh I've since kinda lost track of whom we've got doing what at this point...
