True - but I don't think Levy, as the chairman, should be exempt from criticism.
I personally think there are certain things that, historically, he has rightly been criticized for.
I think treating him as an infallible deity is just as bad as jumping on his back for not spending in line with UTD/City/Chelsea.

Re these articles. That's another issue altogether. There truly is smoke without fire with 99% of what is read and shared. Click bait articles created by hack journalists who know as much about the state of play as you or I.

Now the issue I have with some people is that they have said the first 11 needs improving. So while I don't think we can step up there ( although the sale of Walker has slightly changed that, I'd still be happy to go with Trippier and KWP) I do however feel the SQUAD can be improved.

It's funny that other people have changed their original hysterical demands for "2-3" players who can "immediately improve the stating 11" and tried to merge their argument to "the squad can be improved".

That was my point from day one, which you sneaky lot are now trying to downgrade to I think our "squad can't be improved on".

Edwards getting game time for Njie or maybe even Nkoudo going out for me would be a fantastic addition next season.
Some would see that as small time and defeatist and would like to buy Lemar for 40M instead.

Good for them, we have very different views on how we would go forward. I'm enjoying the coaching and academy side of our policy more than signing expensive one season wonders for silly money.

Nobodies "changed their hysterical demands" we just don't believe in this ridiculous notion you have of a 'first 11', the sensible ones are actually the ones who realise you need quality throughout the squad to compete not just 11 players. So let me get this straight your way of improving on last season is letting go of njie and nkodou and promoting edwards (a player who has had 15 mins of first team football). Im done were all lunatics for thinking lemar might add more to the first team right now than edwards

Too true. A lot getting really upset & angry because some fans want the club to rightly or wrongly spend.
If you dare read back most of the melting is from people really offended by people wanting the club to buy.

Keep him, have a player that doesn't want to be there, not use him while paying him..and lose him for nothing.
They will take an acceptable fee surely.
They have spent fuck all. They are about £8m up on transfers.

We don't usually sign players in January anymore.
I suppose it's if they accept a reasonable bid and we are willing to wait until he can train in August. It means him probably being match fit by late September and not having any pre season.
Which he probably wouldn't have had anyway.
There's no way that if we were interested we weren't aware of his hernia up until now.
If he has talked to us, even through his agent, and not disclosed it then we definitely won't be interested now.

Everton knows no one will play even close to that figure. The only players someone would pay 50M in the last year of contract are guys like Messi and Hazard.
More than 25-30M for a Barkley with 11 months worth of contract would be straight up robbery
