In case you hadn't noticed Son and Lemar are not first teamers at this time.
So who does he replace
Dele for 3 CL games? Then what?

The when Son and Lamela come back in October.....what then?
What makes you think Lemar is even an upgrade on Son. He needs to bang in 22 goals from the bench for that to be the case....

If Son was at Monaco, you'd be saying all the same stuff about signing him. It's child's talk. It's pathetic.
Mate your first team talk is whats childish you sound like an 11 year old saying were going to win the league because we have the best first 11. How many times did this first team that apparently sons not in start last season.

Strange how we are failing because we aren't replacing players in our first XI like everyone else, yet I can't think of one member of our first XI that practically every team in the league wouldn't want.

:avbcringe:
Adding depth by finding guys who are CL-quality players content to sit on the bench for a club that pays them less than 150k/week seems to be much harder than some people would think.

I haven't said we are going to win the league.
I'm happy with our growth and think we will get there under our current regime with a few trusted squad players and the continued development of our first team and manager.

I'm enjoying the ride, it's never been a greater time for me in 35 years as a Spurs fan, starting at 5 years old.

Im fucking delighted at where we are and I love the potential and the hope it gives me.

Enjoy your Super Sky Transfer Window soap opera and tweets from trolls if that's what gets you going. It really is going to be a shit summer for you football wise.

So your using 2 example of transfers not working out, should we not sign anyone ever then. 90 % of our team has been signed at some point you anti transfer lot are hilarious
Also, they say poch is a great coach but dismiss any chance he would have made players like martial a success if we had signed them.
Suddenly when a player gets signed, he performs exactly the same no matter what club & coach he plays under.
Makes complete sense that.

I think the fact you keep using my historical misguided stadium views to justify your increasingly rabid outbursts says it all really.
You've lost it mate
Historical? You mean about this time last year...? This is exactly when you lose it yourself.

When things turn out well despite our small time transfer window, I expect another full backtrack and for you to think that it's ok for you to keep melting over the club because you say "oh I was wrong"

No shit you was wrong, there was foundations being laid. It's the same this year, only that the foundations are not concrete blocks, it's an ethos.

Yet you have missed the boat again

For someone so happy and hopeful you do like to throw out a lot of digs at random people you dont know for having a different opinion on transfers. Funny that

I think that's missing the point. What I said was people said "Depay/Martial were going to win Utd the league", not that "if we sign Depay/Martial....".

Regardless, they went to play under Van Gaal, who got a lot out of their academy and still he couldn't make use of the two. If we're going to tow the line of "Poch could have made that {insert flop here} good for us", where do you stop?

You could literally apply that to any player. He's not a magician though, and we've seen plenty that we've actually signed with high hopes, who leave with the door hitting their arse and Poch closing it.

United have spent fortunes and have regressed (in the league anyway). I'm not anti-transfer, but their approach to building a team has to be wrong.
But maybe their aim is trophies & their view on the league is win it or who really cares.
I am more than happy with top 4 but can appreciate many wanting some silverware before they die. Life flies by!

Even though top 4 is better for us overall as a club in general.
I would love to win the europa & league cup this season even if it meant finishing outside top 4.

Yes, I know its a mess the way utd are going about things, but they can afford it & I am sure most of their fans are happy with the 2 cup wins last season.

But mate that also works the other way there's loads of players poch has improved and made better players, signing someone is always a gamble.

There is no parallel in that.....I'm happy with the club, yet I disagree with some people on transfer policy.

What's your point? I should agree with you because I'm happy with the first team? Makes fuck all sense that

Pochettino has been quite vocal in his commitment to Spurs youth players getting a chance. He has also played them in the first team.

If he thinks a kid is ready, no one at the club is going to disagree with Mauricio. Pochettino has also talked about the fact that Spurs do have financial restrictions, and cannot operate like our rivals do. We do operate on a budget anywhere from 66% to 50% of those other clubs. Even with the new TV deals, that doesn't change.

Every club in Europe is trying to squeeze maximum cash out of English clubs, and transfer fees this year have reflected that. All the bargains to be had disappeared before June was half over.

Given we need to keep our squad together by paying them more, the money has to come from somewhere, and fans may have noticed we're in the middle of a small renovation project?

I think the club is going to be quite careful about any transfers and may decide there are no established players worth buying this summer. They may go for a few prospects, sacrifice the transfer budget for the payroll budget and spend Kyle's fee on raises for the rest of the squad.

It may make fans unhappy, but makes total sense.

I think they want to become the best team, and that means winning the league. A couple of 2nd tier trophies are not what they're in business for.

:avbcringe:
You know you can... trippier.
You sly forgetful so & so.
Some think first 11 thinking is outdated now. You need a first 12 or 13...
What with probably 50+ games & the fact our first 11 managed 2 league games last season.

Disagreeing is fine whats the point having a discussion thread if everyone going to agree, but you seem to always make things personal with people you dont know, but whatever don't want to deter this from what the thread is about. Ill leave it there
