I'll answer your question after you answer mine...
I think your question was do I trust Poch.? I've probably been his biggest fan from day one and you won't find a single post to suggest otherwise. So do I trust him to get the best out of his players? Yes....
Do I trust every word he says with regards to transfer dealings? No
And neither would I trust the words of any manager at any club.
They'll tow the line. Say what their expected to say. But eventually there becomes a breaking point. I worry that the breaking point may be closer than we realise. And before you jump in with your usual creepy retorts, I genuinely hope I'm wrong

Stop asking yourself easy questions so you can look like a genius. I'll try a 3rd time.

You said this...

A lot of well respected people in the game are suggesting our outmoded pay structure needs to be changed to allow us to push on. Souness just the other day was saying we can't keep on expecting to compete on the cheap. Again, with respect mate, I trust the considered thoughts of well respected ex pro's than the words of a ranting maniac like you.

I asked this in response...

Yet you called me naive when I took Poch's words over yours.

Which is it? You trust the experts or not? Appears you trust whichever "expert" suits your agenda.

You said you trust Souness over another poster you called a ''ranting maniac'' (but it's others that are abusive of course, never poor old John) because he's an expert. Yet, the other day you called my naive trusting Poch over you. So I ask again, which is it? You trust the experts or not? If so, why did you suggest me being naive trusting Poch over you?

Now I'm not Arcy's biggest fan, but why the fucks he in the bin. Seems like it's been a pretty even cunt off between him and CJJ. nothing over the top...I guess the forum elite have banded together as usual.

You don't have to be part of a clique to find the posts of X or Y tiresome....

'Ignore' button is no real option; destroys the flow of your average busy thread.

[No, I didn't vote him in.]

Interesting that you've put in quote marks something I didn't say. Your quotation must be someone else.

they spent big - spent double on wages then the second place team
I thought so. I assumed they would easily be the biggest spenders in the SPL.
I think most fans of other teams would think celtic buy the title every year.
Rather than just admit there aren't any, people will make out celtic & chelsea aren't big spenders in there leagues.

So, SchmoodSpur SchmoodSpur , to quote the words of Juicy Sushi Juicy Sushi , we want the right players. The dollar amount is irrelevant.

Why would you not want us to pay more than 20m for Mahrez, even if Poch thought he was the right player?
Don't you trust his judgement

With all due respect, that's no quite true nor fair.... It's perfectly reasonable to respond to a post on face value. Especially rather than pander to some preconceived notion of what a poster may or may not 'actually' be like... That shit just gives birth to clique-like scenarios where some are given more grace than another. Better idea... Expect to be taken on face value and post with conviction and a degree of reservation to start with.

...Regardless, if you're indeed 'that man', then maybe you can equally see why I would object to your original assertion and maybe opt to calmly explain to me how we are a "Parody" rather than lecturing me on forum etiquette.
All my posts have had a degree of reservation hence me reiterating in each that I like and support levy. I didn't even say he was wrong which I also made quite clear.

I explained the 'parody' comment. And the comment wasn't WE'RE A FUCKING PARODY!!! AAAAAHGGHHHH!!! As ur response suggested. I said "we're becoming a bit of a parody" in regards to transfer dealings. It was a throw away comment. If u read that to yourself in a shouty wound up voice to that's on you.

I've been calm throughout. Maybe take ur own advice on that one instead of coming in all guns blazing looking for an unnecessary argument.

I do.

See how easy it is to answer a direct question. Your turn.

I answered your question Clear as day. Can I come off the naughty step now.

How many thousands of pounds would you need to pay someone to re-read every post of this entire thread in one go?

In fact could anyone do it without willingly gouging their eyes out with the nearest dull implement and ramming their fingers into the holes to try and end the misery?

You haven't actually. My original question was why should we not spend 20m on Mahrez, even if Poch thought he was worth it.

I do don't really answer my original question
*more than 20m

I think Mahrez is a one season wonder. If Poch, with his vastly superior knowledge was to decide he is worth more and buy him, I will change my opinion. Unlike you, I don't think I know better than our manager or think he's conniving.

Sorry, but you just came off as contradictory.... "I'm not moaning, but..."-type statement.

I explained the 'parody' comment.

Not prior to my original response, you didn't.

Again, your hyperbole casts you as the OTT/hysterical one.

I didn't suggest you were in a shouting rage, I just implied that you could do with chilling out if the Marez headline "frustrated" you to the extent that you'd bother posting the comments you did about it.

I've been calm throughout.

....Yet "frustrated" and somewhat embarrassed by our creeping "parody" status?

....Enough to make hasty posts, that to your own admission are 'out of character' and lacking thought?

Maybe take ur own advice on that one instead of coming in all guns blazing looking for an unnecessary argument.

This is a very boring null debate, given you've already conceeded you 'spoke without thinking'.

["Guns" very much still in holster...]

Sevilla won the Europa League in 2014, 2015, and 2016. That's quite recent. SAF spent much less on tranfers than either Chelsea or Man City in years competing against them. And football is a global game, if you rely on only English examples you're ignoring roughly 95% of the sport.

You are making an arbitrary claim. "spend big". Define big? If you spend a % less than your rivals is it not spending big? Or is it an absolute dollar amount, adjust or not adjusted for inflation?

The facts are this: Spurs are building a stadium. Spurs are also an on-going business with expenses and regular business things like payroll to consider. Transfers cost money. Right now, English clubs are charged more money than other clubs because the PL spent so long talking shit about how much money they got that other clubs noticed. There are very few players available for transfer to Spurs who would be able to join the club as a useful depth choice who are also content to sit on our bench instead of starting for other teams. There are NO players available for transfer to Spurs who would improve our starting 11 bar at right back.

We're not spending 50 million on a player. We're not paying them more than the rest of the squad. We're trying to avoid having to give everyone pay raises all the time so that cash can be devoted to building the stadium.

The club operates under very real constraints. If you have solutions to those constraints other than "ENIC need to operate the club at a loss because I demand other people treat their property as I wish", then let's hear them. If you don't, then I don't see what point there is in having a discussion about these topics.
So the argument is titles & you give me europa league cups!
& utd still did spend big, I have never said who ever spends the biggest wins the title.
it is ok to admit the truth. let it go sushi. you haven't come up with a team who doesn't spend big yet wins titles regularly.

we don't need to define if the best you can come up with is SAF's united. They still spent a big amount when you include wages/fee's. I think you said only city & chelsea would have spent more in total during that period.
In general that is still a big amount they spent. much bigger than most of the league bar 2 teams in fact.
I think that wage bill would have been classed as big. They were & still are on a whole other level to the likes of us.
But it is fair enough if you don't think that utd team spent big. I totally disagree on that.
