Which is fine, you're allowed and welcome to your footballing opinions. I'm just offering the rebuttle that we looked at him before Celtic, and didn't like him, and there are reasons his success at Celtic may not be regarded as highly as you think it may deserve to be.

I mean i don't rate him as world class or anything like that, i don't think he would make our starting 11.

I just rate him as a young player, he plays a position i feel we need to look into, he is 21 and has European experience and can find the net!

Who would you like to see Tottenham sign, if anyone?

At this point, I think any realistic first team improvements (aside from right back) are not possible. We can't afford the fees of the players who could, and those who we could afford have already moved. The only guy I would look at, for the first team, right now, is Nabil Fekir. But Levy would never allow him to come due to his injury history.

So, if first team signings are out, I'd go pillaging other clubs youth programs. Jadon Sancho is the right idea. Vaclav Cerny would also be a good one, I think, for when Son moves on.

You would think at least a lower-mid table EPL team would take a punt on him.
I am surprised there's been no interest for him from EPL teams.
I think he would improve most of those teams. He looks like he has a lot going for him.

I like Fekir a lot and feel we could have made a move for him last season, much harder now considering Lyon have lost Crapazette (Lacazette), and your comments about injury history is correct.

I doubt Man City would allow top youth prospects to leave, Sancho is one for the future though, for sure.

Cerny would be a great signing for us.

I recall seeing a rumour that the issue was a failed medical more than a talent thing. If he has a looming health issue, you can see why a club would be reluctant to commit a large fee towards him.

Met a bunch of Celtic fans in Vegas over the summer and asked them how good Dembele was. They were absolutely insistent that Leigh Griffiths was a better player. We more or less laughed them off but if Celtic fans rate Griffiths over Dembele, then perhaps he wont be quite the level we are looking for.

Although Griffiths then scored 2 freekicks against us the next morning and left a lot of egg on our faces. Maybe we should sign Leigh Griffiths.

Lindelöf will do amazing in the PL me thinks. He's 23 (I think, I know he's not old) and his career has been pretty much a rocket since the 2015 U21 euros (which he wasn't even supposed to be in but got in last minute due to a injury). He was a regular for Benfica in Portugal and won a couple of trophies there and got regular CL football as well. He's now a first choice CB for our national side as well.

Another name I'd personally like would be Henrik Larsson's kid Jordan. He's young so he would obviously be a name for the future but he has almost as much raw talent as his dad. He was a solid young player in the Swedish top flight for a couple of years and made the move to Holland last summer which sadly has not gone that well for him and he's hit a slump.

Problem with him is would he be allowed to sign for any team on the British isles that isn't Celtic?

Well I hope he flops as he is at man utd ha.
Jordan would probably be allowed to go to man utd too as his dad played there for a short time.

Sancho seems a long shot, but he's not signing a new deal for them, and wants out because he wants to play. That's our big edge right now. Any kid we contact knows that if they show their worth, Pochettino will give them a real chance. They won't get that at other big English clubs. It's the Ajax model, but the money can come sooner.

Yeah, it was odd how he ended up at celtic & nowhere better.
I am sure there were other better teams than celtic who were meant to be after him as well at the same time as us.
Well, we will have to wait & see how far he goes.

I've not suggested you are to blame for Dembele going to Celtic.

It does seem like you have the opinion that Dembele wouldn't be good enough & shouldn't play for Spurs because 18 months ago we chose not to sign him. My opinion is, maybe we made a mistake and should go back in for him.

As mentioned just now and many times previously on the thread we had a transfer lined up and he failed his medical. That's really all the needs to be said. If we turned him down 18 months ago for a few million we are hardly going to spend 5 or 10 times as much to get him now when presumably he still has that same chronic issue.

He seems to have been pretty match fit for the last 18 months :)

When looking at transfers you have to asses the need for them. No point spending money for no reason and it can also be distruptive for the squad.

Goalkeeper: fine with 2 good goal keepers
CB: if we lose Wimmer we need to replace but Toby, Verts, Dier, CCV should be enough
RB: depends on Kyle Walker Peters, massively rated but is he ready
LB: Fine
DM: Victor and Dier is fine
CM: Dembele, Winks, Onomah, even moving Dele or Dier in their so we are ok
AM: when Lamela is back we have a good set but we lack an explosive player, closest we have is Nkouduo but Poch doesn't trust him
Striker: Kane is the best in the Prem and Janssen I believe once he settles will be fine.

To me we should spend all our money on a special player in the AM position. If we had spent £60 mil on Bernardo Silva and no-one else that would have been a great window. Why not try and buy Bernardeschi or someone, we don't need lots of players, just one or two who can add that bit extra.
