New stadium chance to lead a side who haven't won a title in 55+ years to a championship, you cannot buy that. That give you immortality! just look at our double side!
 
Tottenham were the club to sell Bale to Real Madrid in 2013 and have an option as part of that deal to re-sign him, but there are certain conditions to it.

  • Tottenham do not have a buy-back clause, but they do have an option on Bale.
  • This entitles them to match any offer Real Madrid receive for Bale, within 72 hours of the La Liga champions accepting it.
  • This counts only for offers from Premier League teams.
  • It is time limited, and expires on June 2019.

For what it's worth, I'd be happy with King.

Not instead of Janssen, as well as. Depth and options. King scores goals in the premier league. That's worth paying money for.

IMO we are looking for someone wanting a step up, that won't expect a starting berth. King fits that remit.

I feel like it's dangerous for either us or United to go for Bale, Real never do anyone any favours.

They'll want De Gea from United, which will leave them far worse off........and they'll be asking about first refusal on Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Alderweireld, etc from us.
 
Been away with work and on various holidays for the last couple of months so haven't really checked in on this thread. I suppose everyone is in great spirits and there's been no cuntoffs over a perceived lack of ambition from the club?

Good. And he would have been fully aware of that when he signed his Madrid contract. As someone else mentioned, even if Levy refuses to meet his wage demands, he can scupper any move to United for at least 2 years. It's the very least we deserve.
