I say , old chap, isn't that a bit thick?

:myword:

My word

Has the Pereira link died out completely? On paper he fits the mould. Youngish, athletic and a RWB.

I wonder if we are monitoring PSG. They'll be selling some pretty good players I bet. Lucas Moura, Pastore and more will struggle to see game time this season... Not sure I would want Lucas or Pastore though, lol.

Apparentaly Poch is expecting 3 new players so we are due to get linked to a lot of players.

Poch turned down Pereira. Lucas Moura is part of 'Project Neymar' as he's one of his best mates.

Erm maybe try out this guy called Kane, heard hes decent.
We should be looking for an attacking mid/winger not an out and out centre foward.

Obviously Kane. But he also spent a chunk of last season injured. God forbid, if Son AND Kane were injured at the same time do you want to rely on Janssen?

Kane, Janssen, Son.

4 is overkill. We play one striker. 3 options is enough.

As has been argued to death on this forum by most, is Son actually a striker? He scored a fuck-ton of goals last year but centre forward isn't his primary position. And again, as above.

No, but as a 3rd option that is fine. Just like Dier being our 3rd option at RB last season.

We don't need 3 out and out strikers when we only play 1 and have another who can deputise.

of course this is all rumours but is there a chance we've spoken with the player or can this only happen once an offer has been accepted? If we have then perhaps we have a clear signal that we are his preference, in this case the only stumbling block is the transfer fee.

Very little is to be gained signing the player early as he can't play anyway and Everton will be more desperate the later it goes in the transfer window. They may also feel understaffed themselves and unable to move on another player until they are sure a deal is going to be struck for Barkley. I'm not being funny but saving £15M+ on a player just because we waited a few weeks is wise, if (big IF) we don't lose out on the player.

I clearly don't deal in player transfers but if I did I would be running several simultaneous strategies to ensure we end up with our required squad. I wouldn't gamble on one player and risk being left with my pants down. Levy is no fool – he has to be working like this...

Deep down I feel three players will be signed but none of those will be Bale, Isco, etc.

No but our preferred strategy is to have players that can slot into a range of positions, providing cover where necessary. A couple of years ago it was "where are the goals going to come from if Kane is injured" We proved we could deliver with the cover on the bench and players deputising (Ali, Son, CE, etc). Toby, Son, Dier, one of their biggest values is the ability to adapt – this IMHO is priceless.

Everyone we get connected with suddenly seems to attract other clubs' interest. Can't they get that we sign alot of turkeys for every diamond in the rough? I see that Chavski are now linked with Cancelo, who would have been fckuing perfect for us. Walker with a brain. Ideal.

Mate jansenn as a 3rd choice centre foward is fine enough, should we spend 20 mil on a new left back aswell in case danny rose and ben davies are injured at the same time, 3 players for 1 position is enough. Sons best position is not a stricker of course but every time hes played there hes done well and got goals.
How many other teams can you name that play 1 upfront and have 4 strickers, most have 2 max
