Because.....?

I'm not convinced that we go around paying the plethora of people in contact with these deals to keep schtum
I don't follow.....
Basically if I knew something and someone's job was at risk if I told, I would either:

Not tell......or tell anyway under a name like SpursyfanSuper-Mario25.

No one knows who that is.

So saying "Barkley signs tomorrow" wouldn't matter.
Why say....."someone I can't name is signing but it might fall through"

Pointless. Then just keep it to yourself.

One of those 3 or 4 new signings will be Lamela. :levywhoa:

But I just think that not having things sorted in almost middle august is really bad policy. In fm by the end of the first week in July I have 95% of my squad done.:ossie::sherwoodlol:

“We need players who can challenge our starting XI, players who believe in themselves and think: ‘OK, I can challenge Dele Alli, I can challenge Harry Kane,”

“Harry Kane knows very well from when he was behind [Roberto] Soldado and [Emmanuel] Adebayor what happens when you’re not focused for a moment, if another player is behind you pushing for a chance if you don’t give your best.

“You cannot guarantee that they [new signings] will play, but you can guarantee the tools to challenge our current players. If they are better and they deserve to play, they will play.”

“If you look at the history of Tottenham in the last few years, we always spend at the end of the window.

“Chairman Daniel Levy is working hard with the chief scout [Steve Hitchen], we are working hard to deliver and try to add the strength we need to fight in four competitions next season.

“It’s not an easy job,” added Pochettino, who remains confident the club will recruit wisely. “We will find the right players to challenge.”

Ok boys don't freak out but it sounds like squad cover to me

I've messaged my contact and will report back soon

He'll always be The Ronaldo to me. The New Jersey Guido has nothing on him.

Yeah a guy that leads a country like Portugal to a European title, another final, another top 4, a top 4 at a World Cup and is breaking all the records in the best team in the world (at least recently) has nothing against Ronaldo. Not to mention the time he plays on the other shitty team. ;)

Sorry for the offtopic, lets buy a lad or two.

Ronaldo did most of that before Cristiano. Brazil won a World Cup on his back and got the final of the one before doing the same but at 22. Before a seizure was the only thing that could stop him winning the final.

He's also revered by both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Cristiano is great, but he's not R9 great imo.

I don't think so. Sounds more like we are looking to add quality that will threaten the places of the likes of Ali, Eriksen and Kane. To right aswell because we need quality for our CL campaign.

Am I the only one who thinks that we might well still be able to sign Keita Balde?

Forgive my cynicism, but if I was a hack fraud respectable ITK who conveniently stated it was Balde after Darren Lewis wrote an article in the Mirror, I'd realise that I could hedge my bets pretty handily by stating it was off the next day "because things can change so quickly in football".

Adds an air of legitimacy if it doesn't happen, but if it does happen then the numerous spurs forums will be too busy wanking themselves into a frenzy to stop for a moment and think: but wait a minute, JJetset said this was off...

It's not Balde, it never was.
