Ex-Spurs Player Davinson Sanchez

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's how it's been for a long time. Cruyff didn't spend his career at Ajax in the 70's either..

Totally different time, Cruyff spend 11 years at Ajax. Back than it's wasn't all about the money.

Clubs, such as Ajax, should always sell their players if big clubs from better leagues come calling with reasonable bids, just like Scandinavian clubs should sell to Ajax if they come calling with a reasonable bid..

Where's that big club then ? Ajax is bigger club than Tottenham in every measurable way.......other than the incomming EPL TV rights money of course.

I'd say it's about time UEFA started to form a Euro leaque.

It's fair to the players who put in the required effort to reach the top, and it's how the clubs can survive and make sound financial investments in new talent, staff, youth and facilities.

Sanchez is just 21, he's already a better defender than most but in posession he still has lot's to learn, he still needs to develop in that area. Although looking at the average EPL CB, most clubs probably couldn't give a f*** if a CB can pass a ball.

Ajax doesn't need the cash, they should keep Sanchez to his contract which ends in the summer of 2021, than he can move on next season or the season after to that really big club he's bound to be heading one day.

Say what you like about Chow but he certainly sticks his neck out.....I have a feeling one way or another he'll be proven correct on this one

No way, Chow

In England 'BIG' now means 'RICH' like historical minnows Man City & Chelsea.

It's all a load of nonsense.

Personally i couldn't give a flying fuck how supposedly 'big' a club is, fans of teams like Everton & Leeds really get their knickers in a twist over the issue.

I think this is a difficult one for you to win whilst your star centre back is seemingly happy to turn down Chelsea and Real Madrid to be a sometimes starter for us.

Doesn't make much sense, why be a "sometimes starter" for Tottenham, while you can be a "sometimes starter" for Real or Chelsea and even make more money....

Besides I think he has the qualities to quickly become a starter for Chelsea looking at their CB's. Also because they usually play with back 5.

I think it be good to make a stand as a club by holding a well sought after player. He may b*tch and moan a bit but soon realize that he has to perform to make that dream transfer next winter or summer. His value will drop if he doesn't play. That is not just bad for the club but also for him.

If (or when, for f*ck sake) Ajax doesn't win the title and underperforms in Europe nobody will be interested in him next summer. At least, not the likes of Tottenham, Madrid and Chelsea..

It also sets an example to other players..

Of course i don't expect any loyalty from his side. He probably had to google Ajax before he signed. He is tehre just a year and must think 'daymnn, you make 800% in a year and you refuse.. wtf'

I think this about our players sometimes too. But there is a potential downside which is that other players at the club become wary of signing long term deals in case the same thing happens to them in the future. I think in this case, having only had him for a year, you could potentially get away with making him stay another season though. I feel sorry if he leaves you after just one year.
