Ex-Spurs Player Davinson Sanchez

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ive got a l ot of respect for Ajax, but lets be honest the Eredivisie is basically Scotland

It's still quite a bit better than Scotland.

Problem is with alle the TV rights money available and influx of oligarchs, Arabs, Chinese etc. in the bigger leaques, the quality in the Eredivisie deteriorated this past decade. Good players are gone in an instant and the average age gone down. Nothing left to build on.

Except Ajax now have quit a bit of money available, no debts and a very talented (but very young) group of players and all on long term contracts. Exactly the position they wanted to be in a couple of years ago. So they should exploid it.

Totally different time, Cruyff spend 11 years at Ajax. Back than it's wasn't all about the money.

Where's that big club then ? Ajax is bigger club than Tottenham in every measurable way.......other than the incomming EPL TV rights money of course.

I'd say it's about time UEFA started to form a Euro leaque.

Sanchez is just 21, he's already a better defender than most but in posession he still has lot's to learn, he still needs to develop in that area. Although looking at the average EPL CB, most clubs probably couldn't give a f*** if a CB can pass a ball.

Ajax doesn't need the cash, they should keep Sanchez to his contract which ends in the summer of 2021, than he can move on next season or the season after to that really big club he's bound to be heading one day.

Just as deranged as most fans of red-shirted PL clubs.

Ajax have traditionally been a very successful club. Celtic and Rangers were quite successful as well, as was Red Star Belgrade, Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Stade de Reims. What you won in the past does not necessarily make you big now.

As one of your fellow Ajax fans said, your club can't spend their money because they can't attract the €15m players. You know why? Because the dutch league in terms of status and level is mediocre, because the wages you can offer is mediocre, because the attraction of Ajax extends just far enough to be seen as a good stepping stone for any ambitious player.

I do not want to piss on Ajax. I like the club and the way it is being run. But it is a fact that in terms of status in the world of football anno 2017, in financial terms, in terms of fans worldwide, in terms of quality of players and facilities, Ajax is a dwarf compared to Tottenham.

Yes, the difference in income has had an impact, but that does not change the fact that Spurs is a bigger club now.

I honestly thought it was a joke when a 36 yr old Dirk Kuyt scored a hat trick on last day of the season to win the title for Feyernoord ahead of Ajax!
Don't worry - we'll get to experience similar emotions at end of this season when Morientes does the same for us following his deadline day pay-as-you-play transfer

Perhaps ten years ago. I would say its very much a required trait now. Managers in the PL are dropping keepers because they cant distribute.

I would say that football has caught up massively in England, much more progressive than pre PL and certainly no longer exclusive to the "total football" European sides.

Besides I think he has the qualities to quickly become a starter for Chelsea looking at their CB's. Also because they usually play with back 5.

3 CB's is also our prefered formation when everyone is fit.

Didnt Ajax just get knocked out by Nice in the CL qualifiers?

theres not a lot in it. however Holland obviously has the benefit of a progressive footballing culture thats based around technique and tactical awareness. That enables them to create players that are more suited to development in top leagues around the world, and therefore more attractive to young players entering europe from south america and to buying clubs. Scotland has a footballing culture thats not really moved on over the years and still prioritises players based on physical attributes and creates players that in general will run around and kick the ball hard (sometimes in the right direction).
Scotland also has a lot more unpleasant looking women than Holland.

Spurs is wayyy bigger than Ajax nowdays. Cant even compare it. Your future is bright; subtop team punching above their weight (budget wise, not player wise) in the biggest league ever. TV money raining on your whole league. PL pbb has 6 or 7 CL spots in a few years.

Meanwhile Ajax is playing on plastic fields, getting 8m TV money and missing out on players that prefer Twatford over Ajax. Players start leaving the club after a single season. Talents that lose their spot in the XI immediatly hire Raiola. Championship teams pay better. Eredivisie lost their guaranteed CL spot and so on

But we won things 50 years ago. yayy for us
