Match The mighty Tottenham Hotspur v. Plastic chavs

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So far as I could see, we dominated Chelsea yet there was a lack of good individual performances. Although we lost, that nature of our performance (solid team despite lack of individual form) bodes well for the season ahead.

Everyone is going to play like that against us at Wembley this season, might as well get used to it.

How Chelsea played wasn't the issue - teams played like that against us at WHL last season and we won practically every single game bar 2.

It was the fact Pochettino decided to change the formation THREE times in the game that left the players we had on the pitch playing out of position and weakening the overall team ultimately. We ended up at one stage with Vertonghen at left wing back, Wanyama at centre half, we had Kane going outwide far too often etc.

The game highlighted to me that we need aggressive wing backs. Trippier is great at what he does, but honestly I think KWP would have done no worse today, at least he may have tried to take a man on.

Just remember, Kane hit the post in the first half, if that goes in then it's a completely different game and we may even have gone on to win. It's a game of fine margins.

We'll smash Burnley next week. Hopefully with a few new signings. Sanchez is a certainty to start.

Wanyama, Dier, Dele all very poor. Son poor when he came on. Lloris shit for their winner

You can howl all you like at Chelsea for this that and the other but they withstood our pressure superbly, while we we pretty toothless in getting in behind them.

If Poch hadn't changed formation he would have been slated as despite all our dominance we didn't come close to scoring apart from Harry who played well

Agree about KWP and thought Winks should have come on

Chavs got fucking lucky with Taylor's assistance

Never count out the <removed>s.
Well done by them to park the bus and weather the storm only to capitalize once we slacked in the defense. Hugo has to take the goal imo since he couldn't decide what to do.

Dele was as good as invisible for a lot of the game. Eriksen and Kane carried the offensive along with Dembele.

I felt like they tried to do the same stuff again and again and didn't try anything new even when it didn't work.

Sissoko is my new favorite player for clattering Alonso in the face.

Oh well. Done is done and Chelsea are out of the way now. Plenty of home games to come to kill the "Wembley Ghost".

Now I'm gonna have a lie down.

We have nobody else that why wanyama started. Winks is not match fit either and we would have got murdered with winks starting with their 3. Dier could have played there but we went 3 at the back.
This is why we need players. Not just prospects. Still we didn't perform that bad, yet we couldn't score either.
We really shouldn't have lost this game. We had a habit of shooting ourselves in the foot last season and e haven't learned.

Also felt more like a cup game than a league game today. It will make a difference regardless of what anyone thinks. Let's keep our heads, keep evolving and keep moving forward and continue being the class acts we are. We played against a depleted Chelsea today but all of them were bang on form.

We'll warm up as the season goes on

If one thing isn't working I don't mind him trying something different to be honest. The players know what they are doing in the different formations.
Luiz and Kante were excellent for them breaking things up in the middle. Agree about the lack of attack out wide. The sooner Rose is back the better, and I would give KWP a chance to show what he can do.
