Scenario A is what I have been saying the club should have done. The same signings we are most likely to make this summer, but done by July to start the season with the team we want.

Yet

transfers are a lottery

Meaning they could be good or shit regardless of when they were signed

Scenario B is what the club went with, still signing players and might do so on deadline day, which you have been defending forever stating that this will not make a difference to our start.

It might not make a difference, because

transfers are a lottery

ha ha, you are adorable. Still unable to give a direct answer. You've lost credibility of your argument about the club's transfer policy. You can ignore me if you'd like.

Anyways, now we know the flaw in your argument and I hope you have the common sense to see it.

I don't see the flaw. He's saying it depends on the player - which it does. Where's the evidence that signing players early in the window is more beneficial to the club than later? It sounds like common sense, I agree, but is it really true? You get hits and misses at either end of the window. It's not a question to which you can give a direct answer.

Nice if he was to score but I meant more for his hold up play and nuisance value

Another who I think may come good

He should have come on, as he should have many a time last season while we were leading games by 4 or 5 goals...thought Sissoko did a good job, as he usually does, and is clearly trusted by Poch.

People screaming about poor back up, well who knows, maybe we'd have beaten Burnley with Sissoko, Winks and Janssen in at half time for Kane, Dele and Eriksen.....

Stoke fan in peace here.

How do your lot generally rate Wimmer? Looks like we are signing him for around 15 million.

We don't really need a centre half so I can only assume Hughes wants to either offload Shawcross or experiment with Zouma in midfield or at full back.

Has he had much game time for you and do you think he will do well for us?

Best of luck for the season, games against us aside.
Very good signing imo. Was brilliant when he stepped in for Jan season before last and I felt was a tad unlucky to be dropped as soon as he was fit (understandable tho).

Hasn't had a lot of game time since and had a few dodgy performances which I'd put down to lack of game time.

I think he's going to be a very good player personally. Hope he does well for you lot.

Some players can hit the ground running. They just fit straight in.
Pre season is a good settling in period.
Usually the later they sign the longer it takes to adapt to the other players, the style and the training.
It makes it a bit easier.
If they get here earlier they play and train with their teammates longer.
Of course there is no correlation with early signings and better performances.
That's a player dependent thing.
Ideally, if you ask the manager he would want it all sorted out before the team play the first game.
We haven't that luxury sometimes.

Ps id rather have them in earlier. It means we could have maybe played one of them as we needed to.

I seriously think we would have but Dyche is a good manager and set his team up well

Disappointed but no more than that

Wouldn't be surprised to see Arse go for Barclay now they have sold OC to Chelsea.

Reckon we will get in 1 attacking player in addition to Aurier and Foyth. 2 would be nice though. Want to look at our bench and feel like we actually have someone that can come on and make something happen.
