Yet you've decided to believe that's what they are on, and that's what others earn?

Are you really ready to believe that Chicharito wouldn't leave West Ham to earn half the wage at a club that wins trophies? They are compensating players for basically sacrificing footballing reasons.

It's like someone saying all Engineers should be on over £100k a year, just because you can get that easily working on an oil rig.

Of course Chicarito is on that kind of wedge to compensate because of a lack of trophies, that's not the point I'm trying to make. The point is if we like it or not the likes of Madrid, Barcelona, PSG or the English clubs will sniff around players like Kane, Alli or Eriksen eventually and when that time comes, we need to know as a club that we have done what we need to do to make them say no thanks I'm onto something good here with Spurs.

Players will talk and if Alli and Kane end up being the jewels in The national teams crown yet are earning half of what the fringe players are, they will in some way shape or form question why. A pro-active club is a good club and I honestly do feel now is Tottenhams time to step onto the stage we've always known we should be on. For me, I don't want Tottenham to stop growing until they are mixing it reputation wise with Real Madrid, Bayern or Barcelona. We really are a sleeping giant and I'm so proud of how far we've come, I just want to see them continue that progression which I'm sure we will.

i hope you're right and I hope I'm wrong, I just think we are ready to grow to that next level now

I like Barkley and would have him, just think it would be mad to go for him when he's out until a time when we can agree a pre-contract with him or get him for a lot less. It'll be like throwing money away. I'd much rather just explain that to Ross, tell him to hold tight and get things moving with him again once he's able to play again.

Let's use that money elsewhere for the time being, it's the smart thing to do

1st post...

Fucking fed up of this window. Club needs a good slap. We must be the only top side in Europe that has a view that our first 11 cant be improved. Everyone bar Woolwich (look at the mess they are in) has brought in players to improve their first 11.

I accept we have a philosophy of developing players. But what about here and now? as it stands we have a back up centre half, and a kid thats played 7 first team games plus a 3rd choice keeper.

-Weve no pace or walker replacement, despite selling him for 54m
-No Kane back up, despite needing one for about 3 years
-No pacy wide player or ACM that can unlock a defence or provide competition for Eriksen.
-back up full backs are not good enough...

Is it any wonder Walker and Rose want out?

Congratulate the club on Sanchez. But 1 potential first teamer holding up the shirt 2 days before deadline day? Thats what I get for my season ticket?

So, so far we have spent Minus £43m net
Roughly £87m in sales and £44m in purchases.
Buy Aurier for £23m still £20m up.
Foyth costs £10m still £10m up.
We can easily afford to spend another £40-£50m and end up spending around the same as we did last season.

What can I say. I was looking for inspiration, and Big Ern is my spirit animal.
