I wouldn't presume that posters (perhaps ones coming across more negatively at present) are simply here to criticise the team. This is my problem with what you were saying - as soon as you label posters with having 'an attitude' then in turn their qualms with what's currently going on in the transfer window can potentially be dismissed. Hence why I was saying you and Sammy were targeting the people and not their individual points

But the crux of what concerns me is that there are people whose core interaction centres around the witch-hunt. There is no substance behind what they (a specific group) are saying, and it's normally a case of using any old shit found online to almost incite a negative turn against who/whatever the topic is.

The people that call me autistic and deluded....

I guess you missed that, or dont care about such "piffle"..?

My point, as I said, was that they have been moaning for years. It wouldnt matter how the window went.
So you are admitting that you're attacking them? Okay then.

It's bad in either direction, Sammy, and I also think it's very wrong for them to have said those things to you previously (whoever it was that did).

*sigh* I just wish there wasn't infighting going on in here.

I really do believe that if the our transfer window ends strongly then everyone on here will be pleased. Then we can just focus on Wembley being pants.

Well fair enough. I think there may be definite grounds for frustration (though hopefully the next 48hrs will avoid that) but inappreciate that completely overblown and kneejerk negativity can go too far.

You have been showing that attitude for years, and yet we continue to improve through faith and patience...
Um..excuse me. My attitude has been the complete opposite mate.
I often criticise the way the club is run. I will never ever accept our lot. I'm forever crying out for us to push on to the next level. And I will never take the lazy approach that we never had it so good.
Have you had a drink or something

If you mean we will sign 4 players by this window in less than 50 hrs then NO won't happen.
Could totally happen. Never say never.

Settle for Plan B. Out of your predictions one is injured, one has to receive work permit in the matter of two days, one is just for the future and the last might happen, but not this summer.

If you mean Barkley is injured, it won't affect anything to do with a medical (who says it hasn't already been done and what is left is the fee?). Everton haven't even confirmed an injury, it's all rumour at the moment.

Aurier will have his work permit tomorrow, and it's just a question of when we choose to reveal that (there could be tactical reasons behind this).

The last one I have money on, and I still hold a decent level of confidence over a deadline day surprise.

The difference is that nothing will appease them....they've been complaining for years...the imaginary stadium, the disastrous window in January.....writing us off back in December....same old crap.

Its one thing having concerns, but most of the whining isnt even looking at the problems.

Pochettino's baffling subs and favouritsim is far more of a concern than the summer window. So is Wembley....but not many care.

A few will be in for a shock when we make the signings they want, and we are not suddenly winning 10-0 every week.
Wait a sec mate isn't this a bit hypocritical, you've been having a go at people over the summer for being negative and criticising levy, but here you are criticising our manager. So is it only okay to voice concerns with the club if they are the same concerns you have?

Please be Bale. It would shut up all the right people!

Our manager that has given us two title challenges in the last two seasons, two champions league qualifications and created an amazing team (based on last season).

To criticise him is shocking. What exactly were you expecting from the last two-year seasons? I for one would not have even dreamt of us challenging for the title twice! Get a grip.

No, whats shocking is thinking there is a person on this planet beyond critique. No one is beyond critique.

You do not know what goes on behind the scenes.
Thats ironic, because neither do you......yet you claim

Nit pick all you want over semantics but the player wasnt sold over Pochs head. He wanted him out, and that much is obvious.

Barkley - maybe Everton are asking for two much? Maybe he doesn't want to but an injured player and prefers to wait until January where he may be fit and also half the price!

Barkley has been injured all summer, so if he didnt want an injured player, he should have pulled interest way before this week

Wembley - you know it's a problem? Maybe the results speak for themselves but what do you expect him to say publicly? Of course he will play it down and want his team to focus on their game and not all this media crap

Personally Id rather he said, we need to adapt and will take a while

Loaned Onomah and sold Njie - they got plenty of chances to impress last season and they are not up to standard. Onomah may come good which is why he was loaned and not sold.

Yeah, my point was he hasnt identified his replacement in the squad though

Kwp isn't ready? - don't remember poch saying that recently. Yes he played him in the opener. We had no one else. What would you have preferred.he needs experience and he got it. what's the problem.
He said it a few days before playing him.....we had no one else, I know. So why not say "he's ready".
Which he was.

Happy with the squad - what's he supposed to say? "Nah they're shit, we need to buy?

No he could have said what he did a week later.....about signing 3 or 4 players, if thats what he felt. He said it anyway after, so think about that before you ask "what was he supposed to say..."

What we need is a world-class superstar. What needed changing from last season. We needed replace walker, add depth. That's what we are doing all be it late. That isn't down to poch. He doesnt negotiate business deals!

None of that has any bearing on what I said, its just rant

Although you could also argue that those at the other end of the spectrum, like yourself, who refuse to never, ever, ever, criticise any aspect of the way the club is run, are also a negative influence.
It's like a willingness to accept our lot. No burning desire to see the club push on to the next level. A lazy, lack lustre acceptance that we should be grateful that we never had it so good.

We all want the team to push on. To.see us so close to a title and not buy that special player or two to give us those extra points or goals in knockout cup games is frustrating. For once we have build solid foundations that have come good day earlier then we would have predicted. But at the same time, we should accept and appreciate what we have seen. As I said, our last two seasons were better then we thought when the season started. We have a team and a stadium coming. We are continuing to grow. Until the season finishes and we see what we end up with you can't really say we have gone backwards or not. Everyone seems to be saying they would be happy with a top 4 finish given we are at Wembley. That plus a cup (even the league cup) would be great. Trophies and consistent top 4 is what we want. Just because we have built the team on the cheap and many players are with 50-120m it doesn't mean we are going to spend that on players. Our income and revenue has not changed and until that improves then we can't expect our transfer and wage policy to change. Some people just need to be realistic.

Have you had a drink or something

I don't drink, so no.

You are definitely on the wind up if you think you've been optimistic. You're what I would call a pessimist in denial - you refute the existance of any optimism, and package as some sort of 'realistic positivity'. Even ignoring the stadium side, I could go back a few weeks in this thread and see you talking about, and triumphantly agreeing with, posts where you or others claim we wouldn't buy a decent 3rd CB or pay more than £30m for any one player.

The only person who has said about "never had it so good" was Redknapp, and it's a quote stored firmly under 'twat' in the spurs dictionary. Improving as a team isn't just about finding things that could be better, it's about trusting and celebrating the trajectory it is already on. Choose to believe that we are going to have a new stadium, and buy a better class of players, whilst doing it the right way.

Surely you can see why it gets annoying for some of us to have positivity trampled over, especially as positivity has actually gotten us pretty far.

importance of the third choice keeper put to one side, why did you disagree about the idea that the manager thought gazzanigga was a better option.
he worked with lopez for a year and clearly didnt fancy it, or im sure we would have bought him.

The manager has said nothing to compare either player. Neither player has played a game for us, or is likely to do so. So any assumption is purely conjecture. Unless you happen to watch alot of Espanyol or Rayo V.
