Some of the best players I have ever seen at Spurs had no pace.
Klinnsmann wasn't particularly fast either. how great he did with the US when he seemed to be selecting players with pace like it's all that mattered.

Our pace comes from wing backs, which so far this season we have lacked. A fit Rose and Aurier will enable our system and tactics.
 
Levy has done it again.
sold one regular player and replaced him with a player who won loads( thensqaud no longer weakened)!
got decent future talent in plus an old head to share the load up front and pass on his winning knowledge

I think we may also see us spending in January if the right player is available

Guy on twitter was unhappy that we didn't get "anyone with pace" to which JJetset tweeted:

Little does he (apparently) know that only means Spanish clubs can BUY players for an extra day - English clubs can't.

You'd think someone sitting at the table would know that.. Oh well :levystare:
 
so the walker money essentially paid for his 'like for like' replacement, our new kane backup who scored one less than mane and coutinho last season, and a project CB who the new worlds richest club PSG wanted

that could turn out to be genius

But moving the ball forward quickly is a different issue. The ball moves faster than the man, so is it pace, or our inability to see a pass? Vardy has pace - would you want him, with us lumping balls over the top?

Anyway I don't agree that we have issues moving the ball forward quickly, and if we did Aurier will help to put that right. Our pace came from Rose and Walker - it's our wingbacks, in our system, that provide the pace.

We have fewer first team players now, so the point is completely valid - although I like our squad.

Quality over quantity and it gives our youth the chance to breakthrough.

Would have loved Sancho as well. But we've signed some proper players.

We now have options on the bench and just about enough to ensure squad rotation without losing the identity of the team. All in all a great window, I like the personality of the team.

Let's spend the year scouring the globe for the most promising young CM, LB, AM and Strikers now and be pro-active in our dealings come 2018!
 
Apparently Barkley turned down Chelsea after Everton refused to listen to any Tottenham offers. He is to have said that he didn't want Everton to try and force him into anything and didn't even make it as far as the medical. Fuck Everton and it's obvious he wants to come here.
