Match Galacticos v the mighty Tottenham

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ridiculous evening, flew from Inverness to Heathrow via Manchester. Kick off just after the first flight left the tarmac. No phone reception in Manchester, had a few texts about our goal. Hyperventilated through the next flight, 1-1 on landing. Fuck. On the tube, in and out of tunnels, updates on this forum always fast and funny. Shitting myself when Hugo pulls the saves, then suppressing agony when we almost won it. Final whistle when I'm on the bus home. #SOLOSUBURBANSCENES.

Great result, and great match to watch! We held our own and earned a well-deserved draw.

It could pretty easily have been 3-3 if we'd have hit the 1st Half Llorente-Casemiro clear penalty, or the 2nd half Kane chance, while Madrid could easily have scored on the Benzema-Hugo wonder-save, or any of the Ronaldo strikes. We had a few close calls, but against such a quality opponent, you'd have to say that we played really well.

Shout out to Winks for a great overall performance. Good passing and tenacious defense. Credit to Sanchez for a great defensive effort. They both took on and beat their man at times which was wonderful to see. I was sad to not see Dele out there. Sissoko, however, looked better than I have ever seen him for us. It was really great to see Rose out there as well, though it was weird to see him in midfield (?).

If I had one suggestion though, I'd say that Poch should have perhaps brought on Son for Llorente at around 75'. Might have given him an opportunity to run at their back line a bit more. Llorente ran a good deal and won a lot of balls in the air, respect, but he's not really the greatest presser, and seemed a bit tired towards the end.

Anyways, great overall performance- everyone put in a real effort out there. Really looking forward the home leg with Dele back, and Jan and Toby back at the heart of a proper 5 man defense. It's gonna be a great game!

I'm not trying to kill anyone Joe. I love the guy to bits, but it was sad to see him look so lost and estranged from what was going on.
He set the bar high and I was really hoping that he would use this as the key point to exorcise the ghost of Modric.
Modric was magnificent though.
Modric showed eriksen what he should be doing tonight. And isco was their best player imo. Didn't think the rest of them bar the keeper were up to much
