We didn't have a lot of other defensive options in the bench. He won a few free kicks and held the ball. Job done.
Too right. I'm really fucking old but last year's league finish was our highest in my lifetime. Mindbendingly hard to get used to how good we now are. Smart, consistent, united and tough along with the distilled essence of our more positive traditional attributes. The best Spurs side I've ever seen, and the least Spursy.

It wasn't that the Spurs were good. It's that Real Madrid was bad. If that had been any of the top 6 teams in La Liga, we would've lost this game. Tottenham ain't all that, their only goal was a screw up by Varane.
