Well, Poch put out a team to win the game and was unhappy with the performance. So those frustrated at the loss are actually more on Poch's side than those saying the competition is irrelevant and it is better to be out of it.

We’d all like to win something, just some of us would like to win some things more than others.
And winning this joke cup won’t stop anyone from reminding us that that’s all we’ve done. Winning the league will do that, and that’s what we’re trying to do. Going hard for the league cup would hinder our chances in the league.

Playing a rotation squad in a weaker competition doesn't mean that the manager doesn't care a shit about winning the competition. He was bothered. He just thought that the rotation team he fielded was good enough - which they were.
Again, it is about accepting and understanding that a weaker squad for a less important competition doesn't mean that the competition is irrelevant or is not cared about by the manager or the fans.
