Crisis?

A small crisis but more due to a couple of injuries than anything else.

Losing Wanyama has been huge for us, as has losing Toby. Wanyama plays in the most important position on the pitch and we’d normally have Dier to step in, but he’s had to go centre back with Toby also out. So our two best players in the most important position are both missing from that position. Of course we will struggle.

And if you don’t believe that DM is the most important position on the field, look how Chelsea do with and without Kante. Or how Leicester did with him. Or how Chelsea played when they had Matic, or City now with Fernandinho. Or how rubbish Liverpool are sometimes as they have Henderson.

That DM guy allows the rest of the team the confidence to go forward and protects the defence. Without the correct player there, any team struggles.

No crisis but Everton are 7 points behind us and have been poor.

Just provides context.

We are likely to be 18 points behind City by 6pm which is astonishing and a damning indictment but no way near critical.

Corrective measures are needed though.
 
As a club we are eating some humble pie after feasting for 3 seasons.

Not a bad thing and you know it might just be what we need.

Everyone has got a bit too expectant. As though just being THFC is enough.

Even that filthy oil-gushing spoilers in City and Chelsea have players who for all their undoubted talent and excess of pay are being made to put in shifts.

Pochettino needs to just revisit old values I feel.
 
Every club goes threw a shit patch now and again we need one win and fork will pick up however I don't see us getting top 4 this season
 
2 year cycle and that's it under our current model.

Simply that even if we are very good and we were the best team over a 24 month period, winning nothing (we didn't) is unsustainable in terms of keeping a squad of ours together.

Once understood it becomes soberly clear although painful to observe.

So we win a trophy, change our model or try to deceive ourselves that our players care as much as us.

No crisis.
