Well that's him off to Burnley thenI wouldn’t be surprised if he’s got a clause in his contract which allows him to talk to top 6 teams.

You read that wrong. What I meant was players who weren't massive stars, with Zlatan as the example of a big name. But I see how my post could be confusing. I'll edit it nowZlatan isn’t a massive star? That’s why he needs no surname. The cunt is the Madonna of fitbaw
This is probably me over analysing but I think Mou acts the way he does to gain respect in his locker rooms. And he does it like this because he has little to no pro player career himself to lean back on. Managers with a history as players know how players think and can relate with them and get respect from them on another level.Admittidly Schweinsteiger was a bit fucked by the time he went to United. One of my all time favourite DM’s though, at his best even better than Keane or Vieira, simply outstanding player but looked like a broken shell at the end.
Wait...Hughes is a manager? Well fuck me sideways. This is probably me over analysing but I think Mou acts the way he does to gain respect in his locker rooms. A manager like Poch, Pep, Zidane or Hughes can look a player in the eye and say "look kid, I've been where you are. Listen to me and this will work out right" Mourinho can't. He does not have that player fraternity to lean back on. So he has to just be "the boss" and gain respect through other means.
I get what you're saying but I was using him more as an example of player turned manager. It was either him or KoemanWait...Hughes is a manager? Well fuck me sideways.
Wouldn’t put him in the same sentence as Poch, Zidane or Guardiola.
Nuff said.I get what you're saying but I was using him more as an example of player turned manager. It was either him or Koeman
How about Steve Bruce?Wait...Hughes is a manager? Well fuck me sideways.

McGinn?
The football srabble player's dream trio
Hibs will sell McGinn for five million. Chicken feedWatched the home game against Rangers
Looked useful so how much?
Levy will offer 2 million then.Hibs will sell McGinn for five million. Chicken feed
2 million and SissokoLevy will offer 2 million then.
Sparky was a decent playerWait...Hughes is a manager? Well fuck me sideways.

He was indeed. It’s putting him in the same sentence as Poch, Zidane and Pep whilst discussing managers that I found amusing.Sparky was a decent player
That's a Stockholm syndrome quote if I've ever seen one. He's just 31 in a week plus, and plays the most age-kind position on the pitch. I mean, he isn't likely to play to 40 like some...but there's no real reason to think he won't see out his contract at least.Think a lot of work needs to be done personally. Not that I think it will as we rarely make a move in January. Poch kept saying during the summer that "The project has been building up to this year, this is our year", which I found rather worrying. A football club is a project that will need rebuilding every single season - it will never be "complete".
Our right back situation looks poor at this point. Aurier does not chase back enough or work hard enough for me and Trippier is only good in attack.
The Dier situation needs sorting. Poch said Dier will be the best defender in England, but I don't buy it. I think he's a shit defender and a good CM.
Llorente has not impressed, yet at the same time has not been given minutes. Other teams rotate a lot more than we do when it comes to strikers, yet we just play Kane week in week out then wonder why our back up strikers don't ever work out. Need to play with 2 strikers, Kane in AM or simply rest Kane if we want to improve as a squad.
AM, at this point, looks poor. I've never been the biggest fan of Eriksen and if he was as good as many think then he would have left for Barca or such already - yet he hasn't. In fact it doesn't seem like anyone has ever seriously tried to pry him off of us. GKN needs to go and we've been stuck with the same AM for the past 3-4 years. Stagnant in that respect, no one has challenged them.
Rose seems like he's off and, with all respect, looks unfit and not that bothered.
Lloris is getting on and we need to start thinking about the future in that respect.
Toby hasn't signed a new contract and could be off, if memory serves me right so could Jan.
Lot of work to do and I can't help but feel that this team is going to disintegrate and we missed the boat to solidify it. I can't see us winning any cups this year with how mentally weak we look either. Lot to do.
I thought reference was to being former players - sozHe was indeed. It’s putting him in the same sentence as Poch, Zidane and Pep whilst discussing managers that I found amusing.
You nailed it. It was never an attempt to put Hughey on the others level. He was just another example of a former pro player turned manager.I thought reference was to being former players - soz
Leon Bailey is a superstar in the making, fast, technical skills galore, works for the team, very rarely selfish and has stepped up his game in a very intense league. But he'll be very expensive and Leverkusen have already said that he won't leave in January. He was already very good when he played for Genk (not Gent) but he had some attitude issues and his dad/manager is insane. But on the pitch his attitude is exemplary, especially for someone with his profile and skills.
