and now all the narrative changes again.......

As predictable as the sun coming up this place... so boring and repetitive, cant we just get a fucking programmer to script everyone's expected responses and have done with it
The thing is our draw at the weekend actually took us a point closer to Liverpool, we closed the gap. Hardly worth the melt. (3,2,1.....cue the "ah but, we SHOULD be level on points, just not good enough" quotes)

All those melts writing off our top 4 credentials after yesterday forgot something. Liverpool were yet to play and the scouse bottlers showed up as expected.

Good morning after Swansea doing us a big favour against Liverpool last night I certainly feels better than I did after our game against Southampton. I predict we’ll take all 9 points from our next 3 games.

Who? United, great move on their part but the rest? Chelsea have signed a player who hasn’t played this season and is coming back from a serious injury ( and hasn’t lived up to his potential). Liverpool have signed Van Dyk but sold their best player in the process whilst Woolwich have just sold their best and brought in a player who was a complete flop at United. We don’t need a statement in the market, we need far more from what we have already. When we have this level of talent available but are supposedly dependent on new signings for performances then serious questions need to be raised about our manager.

Agree we don’t, we simply need to be the strong side we are and let our football do the talking.

Not read the thread but anyone writing off our top 4 chances based on the weekend just gone (I'm sure there's a few of you), are welcome to spend the rest of the day riding my rock hard diamond-cutter trouser pole. Ya bunch of melts o' fuck.

Guido 🇺🇦 Guido 🇺🇦 form is temporary and although we are unable to read the future it is highly unlikely that we will be able to replicate an output of 4 wins and 2 draws in our next 6 Premier League matches to:

- Man U (H)
- Liverpool (A)
- Woolwich (H)
- Crystal Palace (A)
- Huddersfield (H)
- Bournemouth (A)

If we can get 14 points from those fixtures considering we have Champions League and FA Cup fixtures sprinkled in between, we will finish in the top 4, maybe even top 3. However, the only result I am confident in is a win at home to Huddersfield. The others can easily be a draw or a loss.

In short, do not use the form argument when it is convenient. Talk about schedule now. We have a tough tough tough schedule ahead, and therefore, the least we should have done was beat Southampton, a team who were bottom or thereabouts in the form table as they hadn't won a game in 10 if we truly have this ambition Poch speaks of... We need to beat teams like Soton whether home or away.

Perspective.

Agree it’s a tough schedule but i’m sure Pochettino & the squad can and will handle it. The difference for me with the squad we have built up is this....I look at the fixtures and think yes we can win this, sometimes i’m Wrong but that’s football. I predict we’ll get top 4, win the FA Cup and reach the Champions League Final this season.

All our rivals spend more on wages than our entire turnover. I admit I used to tink like you before I joined this forum and saw the figures that other people posted. It’s a shame, but a reality.
It is a shame but it doesn't have to be the reality . If we had been bolder in the transfer market over the years, gambled say when Harry had a chance of the league , retained players by showing we were building round them to win things ,
then our revenue would have increased via better sponsorship deals , global merchandise sales .
We never take a punt on success.
