Ex-Spurs Player Toby Alderweireld

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Equally, if he is that much in demand, then we can let him sweat it out on his measly £50k a week (being cunty hasn’t done Rose too many favours), improve the contacts of those around him, & wait for a bidding war. The £25 million is just the release clause. IF...he is still so much in demand after Poch has broken him.
Problem with that is all clubs could just offer 25m.
Or even if say Manure was to offer 50m and citeh were to offer 25m he could still go to Citeh, especially if the other 25m was wages.

Who cares? Sanchez and Foyth are the future. Our much vaunted CB partnership was always going to break up someday, and Alderweireld’s best days are behind him. If he’s so desperate to leave let him.

Sooooooooooooooooo blatant!
Not really. ...regulars know that I only go to Malta to see my mum, which unfortunately means that I have to get on a plane to do so. Not a holiday, spend all my time sorting out her problems with tradesmen, medical appointments and anything else that crops up. Believe me, I wish she lived over here. Nice to be in my own bed tonight.

I'm now so bored with all this that I have turned over February of my Spurs calendar already... February being Toby and March is Jan Jan Super Jan. And on that note, good night to all those of you still up.

Yrah guys fuck him! It’s over we’re through!

If we sell him I'm pretty sure we'll bring in another defender. Maybe Gimenez from Atletico? Contract is up in the summer I think, fairly young as well
I think Poch has always believed in a 4231. Last season, having Walker and Rose flying, lamela injured and son inconsistent made him change it. Im sure he'll still drop dier or wanyama back there when needed, but with the attacking players we have: having 3 CBs on the pitch seems like a waste

Struggling to understand how this guy has gone from our clear best defender, up there with Ledley, to being injured, having some Twitter gossip about his contract situation and it’s now all “he’s old, injury prone and not much better than the other guys, get him sold”.

And a lot of “he should go if he doesn’t want to sign”. We don’t know what the discussions have been. We don’t know how big a decision this is for the guy. Yet, we seem quick to assume he’s a greedy money grabber.

Trying to please football fans? Not easy....

well if he signs a new contract, he will be back to being the Best CB in Europe, if he leaves, Sanchez is younger and was better anyway!

Agreed. We've all been here before with various players down the years so we know when something isnt quite right, but jumping to conclusions now when its only ever the newspapers flinging shit and nothing concrete is a waste of blood vessels.

I hope he signs. I think he will. If he doesn't, best of luck to him as hes been great for us. There are other players out there with potential to be the next King if thats what we want.

Cognitive dissonance is an essential tool of the modern football fan. I, for example, currently think Sanchez and Foyth are both significantly better than Alderweireld, but if Alderweireld signs a new contract, I'm sure we'll have retained the best CB in world football. ;)
