Wrong. I peaked in 2016.
Many fans of Southampton warned us that Poch would often choose players in the "in-crowd" and would be overly sentimental. Playing people even when he should not.
Davies and Trippier are not title winning full backs.
Dier is not a title winning CM.
Dembele is old and was responsible for the first goal 100% and imo has cost us that semi-final.
Alli and Sanchez are nothing more than prospects who may make it.
Kane should not have played any of the last 3 games.
Toby should have played this game. So should Lloris.
The players seem too comfortable with Poch and like they're undropable. Buying "competition" is pointless if that competition never plays, because then the starting players still feel comfortable.

The management has said only players Poch doesn't want to keep will leave though, and obviously Poch will want Eriksen.

No, no, no- we have plenty of winners in the squad.
It's tough to win games though if your gameplan is so simplistic.
Poch needed to use second-order strategies to counter the changes Mou HAD to make to play us. He failed to do so, and then stuck us in a box with no flexibility off the bench. It was a poor effort on his part no doubt about it.
And now we all have to hear about the master Mourinho and how he knows how to win games. United are one of the dullest teams to watch. But they come out as winners here and they're most likely going to be runners-up in the league.
As many of us said in the Summer. We should have been active in keeping ahead of our rivals. Not waiting for the market to settle and picking up the leftovers 6 weeks in to the season.

The vorm selection was completley the correct decision.
Hugo has been terrible lately and has made numerous costly mistakes. Add to that Vorm has played every round until now. Add to that Poch brought Hugo back in last seasons semi and he proceeded to concede 4 goals.
Poch made the right call there.

But as has happened many times in recent history some of our players decided not to turn up.
I feel for the likes of eriksen, trippier, diet, Jan and sanchez who all had good games, but when you have half the team not performing then there will only be one outcome.
Son was dire today, non existent, dwelt on the ball too much and his crossing was woeful. Dele had a great finish, think that was the only time he did anything with the ball though, poor performance. Dembele was at fault for their first goal, trying to be clever rather than making an easy square ball to dier when he first recieved the ball. He also slowed so many of our attacks by beating a player and then not knowing what to do other than play a side pass.

I had that sinking feeling 10 mins into the 2nd half that we'd boss the ball but they'd nick a goal. And lo and behold! Wished they'd prove me wrong and change the same old script.

Selecting Vorm didn't lose us the game. The 2nd goal was probably saveable, but you'd have to ignore plenty of other tactical mistakes to put our loss on Vorm's shoulders.
Heartbroken. Poch got done by a more experienced manager. He made many mistakes, but it didn't help so many players (especially Kane, Son and Dembele) were off their game.
It's just so fucking painful to think we have to wait at least another year to win a trophy.
Yet, we'll still be here.
