Match Tottenham Hotspur v. Manchester United - F.A. Cup Semi-Final

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I said it before and got slaughtered for it here, but we went as far as we possibly can with this current squad last season. It will never get that good again with this group. Need to break it up and start again this summer.

I do think we need to change. The current squad, and way of playing, is not enough, we've not improved this season but other clubs have. Fine for one season, not for two.

Ah, this is a hard team to support sometimes. Feels like we're fucking cursed.
I had that sinking feeling 10 mins into the 2nd half that we'd boss the ball but they'd nick a goal. And lo and behold! Wished they'd prove me wrong and change the same old script.
Has put a huge downer on the rest of the season for me.
Credit to you guys who can be philosophical but this to raw and painful right now.
Fuck football!
It is raw and painful, specially for the team. Just watched Dele being interviewed and he is hurting. We didn't win and that is shitty, but we are all in it together.

Bullshit. Vorm stood like a statue for the first goal and looked an even bigger twat for the second. A world class defender like Toby would have made a massive impact on our back line.
How can you possibly deny this.
Fuck you and your apologetic bollocks.
A back 3 with toby would have been much more solid I feel. Its noble to not play players who want to go but sometimes it hinders us on the pitch. Toby would have started today instead of just brighton if he didn't want out.

It's just so fucking painful to think we have to wait at least another year to win a trophy.

Would you place your entire life savings on us winning a trophy in the next 3 years?

I know I wouldn't.

How about the next 5?

I know I wouldn't.

Would I place it on United, City and Chelsea winning something in that time frame? Definitely, take my money.

There is something missing in that team, we're not going to win anything with that teams as it is. It's not a question of ability, it's to do with attitude and fucking mentality, they seem to give up and they have done that a few times in very important games.
I don't think a massive overhaul is needed. The quality is there. But we do need a few "winners"/veterans in the squad to shoulder the pressure and guide our youngsters in games like this. In games like this the experience gap between a guy like Vertonghen and a guy like Alli/Kane is very noticeable. A few players that know how to fight back from underneath and scrape a win.

A few tweaks to the squad and our coach learning how to adapt and play more cynically and we can take that hump

You should go on Woolwich TV, you are a natural.

That’s funny because real fans get angry. For all them cunts on gooner tv, they go to every game home and away and are entitled to their views.
Life long fans tend to feel pain, maybe Jonny come latelys find it easier to switch off the tv and whack on Eastenders and get into that in equal measure to the match they just witnessed....I don’t know, maybe you know better in that aspect.

If you don’t care, you don’t get upset.

You win when we lose. Easy life.

So lets just ignore the fact he let a herrera shot that went straight down the middle go in, that must of been Deles fault. We were shit in the second half but Vorm is definitely at fault for the goal that has won Utd the game and he should be criticized as should Poch the same way we would all be criticizing Hugo had he let a goal in like that.
It might be saveable but it was a very powerful shot from close range. Could he have done better? Maybe but that's not why we lost.
Vorm didn't make Dembele try and dribble past Pogba when he could have cleared it and Vorm didnt stop our players from creating a single fucking chance the whole second half.

If Lloris plays and makes another costly mistake then everyone says Poch should of had the balls to play Vorm.

The problem wasn't personnel. The worrying thing is after they scored the second goal the players and the fans just accepted defeat. There was no belief, no fight, no leader.

We keep hearing how ruthless Poch is, how cold blooded and how he can drop and sell players without flinching.

When are we going to see this, exactly? He drops squad players and that's it.

The squad needs cutting open this summer and major work needs to be done to set us up for the future. Currently we're stagnant at best.

And Kane, Son and Dele looked in the mood to take advantage of that, did they?

They never ever had a chance to get the ball in earnest.
Mou made the correct moves to counter our gameplan- pack the middle, deny them service, and limit isolation runs outside.
We had nothing meaningful to counter with, compounded miserably with a quarter-fit Harry not even fit enough to hold-up the ball effectively, much less run into space and press.

This in a nutshell.

I remember one of the first Tottenham games I ever watched we were losing 2 or 3-0 in Europe. You wouldn't think it though. All you could hear was the crowd singing "Come on you Spurs". They didn't give up even at 2-0 down, even at 3-0 down.

I remember in our first CL season in 2011 when we played against Real Madrid and we lost the first leg 4-0. Even then there was still belief that we MIGHT somehow come through it in the 2nd leg.

There's none of that anymore.

We certainly done well against an out of form Real Madrid side who are still in the Champions League and we also done well outplaying Juventus before they KNOCKED US OUT of the competition.

We beat Chelsea and Woolwich well. Both clubs are below us.

Peaking doesn't mean we're shit. It just means this current crop have taken us as far as they can. Just slightly not good enough to win the league or win us honours but provide us with an entertaining team and give us a new identity. One of which Pochettino has had a hand in.

Hmmmm...this will hurt him but with the available personnel I don't think he could have done much else, Dembeke sustitution aside.

We are a very good side but don't know, from manager to players how to win the biggest games. That is about mindset in little fractions.

If it's hard for us as fans to see glory because it has been so long it must be the same for the players.

9 days to recover and for Pochettino to decide if Kane or Son start up front.

Not sure what has happened with our main striker but today Lukaku made Kane look second best by a mile.
