Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If Pochettino goes then the players follow in my opinion.

Wouldnt surprise me if the fact he's coaching us is keeping a few players here (Lloris and Vertonghen especially)

There are so many managers who would be good (not saying all as good) but who would come.

I hope the man stays and yes we would lose 3 or 4 players in due course but a mass exodus when players have contracts? No. Thonk of Woolwich's predicament.

We need to rinse ourselves from the stench of the disappointment odour and ready ourselves for Watford.

Getting top 4 is more important at present than the tracksuit Pochettino may be wearing next season.

I heard the same thing said with Redknapp, the reality is players will only leave if their is an offer on the table from a bigger club offering higher wages. They will do that regardless of who the manager is.

I think today's result was the dam being burst and their will be an avalanche of criticism coming his way and rightly so. To fail to win any silverware with this squad is a damimg inditement of him. I like the guy and he is a good manager but as I had time and time again we are simply seeing the Redknapp years being played out again.

He better realize that we will not win UCL ever and will not win league unless Guardiola looses dressing room. We all love him but delivering EFL Cup or FA Cup is must for next season.

Having read the quote in full it seems to me Poch was trying to say that we need more time (more than a few years) but was trying to be humble by not implying that he was a dead cert to still be here.

That’s how I read it but it the whole time argument is a complete nonsense given he is has the 3rd longest tenure of PL manager ( and the longest if you take away Howe’s and Dyce Championship time). The average tenure of a league manager is little over 1 year so the whole time argument simply doesn’t wash in the modern game. We are not going to get a better team this so what should we be waiting for exactly?

How much time has he had whilst being relatively equal financially to his rivals?

NONE

That is never going to happen but what he has had was 2 seasons where the elite were in disarray and where we had arguably the best side in the league. What he also has was one of the wealthiest and best sides in the UEFA cup but threw the game against Dortmund and lost to a mid table Belgium side. We have had a team at least equal to the offerings of the elite clubs for the previous 3 seasons so the whole financial disparity argument is rendered completely void.

Hard to disagree with the Dortmund and Belgium points.
Even I was dismayed with those debacles

Today just gets better, if Poch leaves then I can’t see the point in the project.

Rip it up and start again,I’m happy to be mid table with 11 academy kids than have all this again

It is quite exhausting being pretty good. I've been more of a wreck the last 3 years than the last 20 tbh.

I think he's disappointed and feeling the pressure the press put on him about 'must win a trophy'. I hope he gets his mind right so he can shepherd the players into the CL for the move into the Pleasure Dome next season.

We're melts, you must go, Mauriciooo Pochettino,
I know how fecking ridiculous! But if we still have the nucleus of the this squad in two, three seasons time and another semi-final(s) comes and goes or a league challenge fails to materialise then it's time for the parting of ways for us and him! In that time his philosophy clearly won't have worked and having worked with good young players Dele,Kane ect it's not going to.... well not with him anyway! But City will have strengthened Liverpool will have gathered momentum and who know what the chav and goons will be up to by then? We've been consistent over the last two and half seasons with the majority games start chopping and changing managers are returning to the bad old ways. And nobody's mentioned a 62k stadium to fill you ain't doing that fecking about.....with managers and players your good players

From 1961-1991 we were frequently also runs in the league but won most of our big finals. Since then we have finally got good league positions but lose most big semi/finals. This is why this match was so big as winning would have shown we had the big match winning ability but that again has not happened. Might feel differently in a few weeks but at the moment we look no nearer to winning anything than ever before.

I don’t see why it would be different in a few weeks because it is precisely where we are at. The only positive from today is that supportbase is finally waking up to the issue.
