Transfers Summer 2018 transfer window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It's not hard to understand that it's difficult to compete in the market at the moment.

We have one of the best first eleven in the PL at the moment. We do not have an area where we desperately need upgrades, and where there are a lot of potential, available upgrades, like Liverpool, Woolwich and United. We have to get the very best players to upgrade any position, meaning we need players that pretty much every single club in the world would like to buy, and we quite simply can not compete with at least five clubs in the PL financially at the moment.

In addition, we have needed to spend a lot of resources on renewing and bettering contracts for our best players.

Gone are the days where we could attract youngsters by being the best club in which they could be almost guaranteed game time. It would be difficult for anyone to establish himself in our first eleven.

A bit surprising. I wouldn't have expected this unless United had another defender lined up.

Everton are hoping to sign Marcos Rojo from Manchester United for £22million before the transfer window closes.

The permanent deal for the 28-year-old Argentinean defender could go down to the wire once Everton are finalised their moves for the Barcelona pair Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes. (Telegraph)

Kinda like when they bought Rooney. They are a bit Sunderlandish with some of their acquisitions.

I think if the club had any decency they should explain and fully justify their actions once the window closes.

No doubt, we'll get the "we nearly signed this player for big money", "the agent asked for too much money" etc. etc. etc.

The revisionist mantra.

Mid May, window opens: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
Early June, pre World Cup: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
Duration of World Cup: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
Mid July. World Cup ends. Pre-season starts: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
Late July. Pre-season tour: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
Early August, just days to go: Be patient, of course we'll strengthen
August 9: None in, none out is a great window. It was always going to be difficult
That's the state of this place when people are even too scared to say "yeah, I thought we would sign some players but we didn't & I am disappointed by that". Ummmm you ain't a true fan!
After saying he didn't want to sign a certain player, even the usually thick skinned totti felt he had to say but If poch wants him I will back him. People are putting disclaimers on the end of any criticism or negative comments they make in case they get accused of being a melter.

There really is no excuse for this. So so embarrassing.

The first team not to sign anyone in a summer since 2003... We're either absurdly arrogant or just thick.

There are plenty of reasons to love this club, and I'll fully support them regardless of whether we sign 0 or 10 players, but in this day and age, where let's be honest transfers are a huge part of the game, this is just completely and utterly baffling.

We're a Champions League club (and have been for the last 3 seasons) with a beautiful new stadium on the horizon, and you're telling me we couldn't attract anyone?

Poch may say everything is OK but deep down he must be livid. Just hope to god we beat Newcastle otherwise that Fulham Wembley game, with probably around 30K there, is gonna be poisonous.

Nope. The club doesn’t think it ought to give us reasons for anything. And a price hike? There’s no price hike. You can’t even compare seats!

But I’m sure they’ll send an email urging me to buy a ticket to see Fulham at Wembley

There's only ONE Hotspur!

1st again!!
In a footballing world where disgusting amounts of money are thrown at distinctly average sometimes, I'm pleased we're making a stand against it!!

"BRAVERY" isn't throwing £300k a week at a player and being surprised he's any good... BRAVERY is TRUSTING what you have to continue the good work, without disrupting the Apple cart!

We really are the trendsetters!

Being dissapointed doesn't make you a melter it is the mind readers who are suggesting Poch and Eriksen won't be happy with the window and will leave because of it. Like they would fucking know.
