Pathetic fans.

Imagine winding yourself up so much for a game of football.
No excuses if he was being racist, got no love for Chelsea fans, think they are all cunts, but I have watched this about 20 times and can’t be certain if he said “black or manc” if it was the latter the guy has already been plastered all over Twitter by countless celebs, and seems he has already been found guilty by the Twitter police who also think its wrong to show any aggression at a football match also, this guy could have his life ruined which if he was being racist is deserved, but flip it on its head and if he was just being passionate and called him a manc cunt he has done fuck all wrong, it’s football, not rugby, Nothing wrong with getting a bit of a atmosphere going, you want your fans to give the oppo players some stick! And for those who think it’s wrong to shout at opposition players at a game, stick to rugby please, I’m guessing most of these have never acutally watched a game live, or if they have they are the kind of cunts that give you a dirty look for getting a song going as you are disturbing them eating there pop corn! Again probably better suited to rugby

Oh yes. I had the pleasure of hearing both those belted out in the "posh" seats at Brisbane Road in a first round League Cup game in 1981. The latter ended "...but the Front go marching ON ON ON" accompanied by enthusiastic zieg heiling.

My flat mate was a Chelsea fan (a perma-stoned hippie veggie version to be fair to him), I was supporting the Os so we agreed to go as neutral as possible. The main stand was the same price as the standing bits and they threw in a free programme. Everyone going in looked 60 plus so we figured we'd be fine. First bad foul of the game was a black Orient lad scything down the Chelsea winger. Luckily I didn't applaud him as the next thing, all those around us, about 30 old codgers, leapt to their feet and started up the above and others from the National Socialist Songbook.

We lasted till half time then left for the pub, only time I've ever left a game early. What depressed us the most was the realisation that a good share of those responsible would have fought in the war
I'm really intrigued as to why it happened with Chelsea more than other clubs. Tottenham, Woolwich, and Palace all had white working class supporters in increasingly diverse boroughs but didn't get this high level of NF and far right support. (spam and wall had some but still less).
What was it with the West London estates and Surrey that made it such a hotbed for NF\BNP\C18 and other far right groups?

So, looks like the fan probably was racist going by Sterlings latest instagram post.

It looks to me, but I'm not a lip reader, that he is saying one of 2 things.
Either
"Fuck off you black cunt"
or, more probably
"Fuck off you Manc cunt"
Sterling has said “Regarding what was said at the Chelsea game, as you can see by my reaction, I just had to laugh because I don’t expect no better”

You'd have thought if it was "Manc" he would have said it wasn't a racist thing.

By the way, I make him right in the comparison he makes here...

Raheem Sterling accuses newspapers of ‘fuelling racism’ after alleged abuse at Chelsea

How old is that guy mid to late 50s? Really! still no excuse coming from a younger fan as they SHOULD be more educated in relation to racism but an old man behaving like that is just, well embarrassing but it’s chelsea that’s what Chelsea do! Where is that prick Badiel and his take? He’ll probably blame us:kanehand:”a well this all started with Tottenham and the Yid chant” cunt

How on earth have you come to that conclusion? He actually said six words not five.
You would need to be a lip reading expert to ascertain what the heck he was saying.
Let's not condemn a man just because he supports Chelsea and just because Sterling happens to be black.

Maybe he wasn't being racist.

Let's not jump to conclusions.
Do you not see the difference between the two cases?

I'm not an expert in lip reading, I've taken no exams on the subject but even as a layman it's beyond mistakable what is being said. The very fact the words being said are unmistakable make this a case of unquestionable racist abuse. There are no other mitigating scenarios to be considered.

Gotcha

''I'm not a expert in lip reading''...''it's beyond mistakable what's being said''.

Have you forgotten to take your med's this morning my good man!

palace are in Thornton Heath, where I lived before we moved up north. Thornton Heath is an area that is probably 60% caribbean, even when i lived there 40 years ago. Couple of my mates (year older than me) were the only white kids in their school. Tooting, Streatham, these areas all had large immigrant popluations.
You grow up with people, you know that the difference is only skin deep

I moved from Thornton Heath up to the High Peaks. The contrast was massive. I moved to a school where no one had ever seen a black person in the flesh. we were being asked what black kids smelled like, was it just dirt that made them look different, did they eat like us, did they go to loo, all kinds of stuff.

he's spot on, Bill. the tabloid press, especially, in this country is a disgrace. make shit up, negative slants on the stories that suit them. its an embarrasement to the country as a whole

This account for it. West Brom had a sizable black population but some of the strongest NF and later BNP support. Some Northern cities had very little black population back then but no elements like Chelsea grew to such extent.

from a very brief historic research through google it seems west London and surrounding home counties were also a hot bed of fascist activities between the wars. the reason is still beyond me

So if he comes out denying he said black. But ''manc''.

And if all those around him say he didn't say black and then defend his character.

Then what?

If it's good enough for us to believe our own, why not this guy?

Makes me laugh the amount of criticism that was thrown at people for jumping to conclusions last week, then those do the exact same thing this week.

You all caveat saying you're not lip reading experts, but then proceed to do it anyway.

The fact is, you suddenly change your ethics because it's Chelsea. You can say all you like to twist it, but that is true.

Suddenly, we can take history into account. Just like some of us did last week who were scorned.

If the guy who threw the banana skin was really being racist, people would have said something.

Righto...

In this instance, there is a black fella stood 4 seats away from him. He said nothing.

So what are we to take from that?

You're all fucking hypocrites of the highest order.

But Sterling heard it

Absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact it's Chelsea. EVERYTHING to do with the fact you can clearly see what he says, you don't need to be a expect in lipreading to see what he's saying.

If our fan last week was filmed mouthing these words I'd be saying the same, banana or no banana. In fact, I said as much at the time (had he said something racist).

Also, that guy was also abusing Sterling, along with hundreds of others. May not have heard it, and may not have fancied getting his head kicked in.
Difference here is that Spurs fans wouldnt stand for it, en masse, and Chelsea fans would/have/do/will
